Something similar happened to me except that it was something a bit cheaper, a Low Profile GT-1030 video card I ordered on Amazon. The box was shrink wrapped but contained junk. Unlike in the story I had no problem exchanging it for the real thing.

CSB: About a decade or so ago I worked as a helper for UPS drivers for the holidays. Basically I ran all of the packages to the door all day long. I worked with different drivers every week.

One week I worked with a driver who every day would stop at his own house at the end of the day. He'd take a small stack of packages into his house and come back out with a different stack of packages. Then we'd tool around town delivering those packages before ending the day.

Wasn't that hard to figure out what was going on.

I'd be willing to bet those bags of powder were the exact same weight as the camera, and the retailer never opened the box to verify what was inside. The manufacturer's warehouse may have an employee with an illegal side hustle.
