Um, good? I want our elected representatives to be well-educated.

Though, it makes the fascist wing's flagrant idiocy all the more infuriating.

I have a bachelor's degree.  It ain't that hard to get.

2023-02-02 3:24:22 PM
Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, earned a doctorate in medicine from Duke University Medical School but does not hold a bachelor's.

Wait, what?

Hell Ben Carson is a brain surgeon.

This is America. Any idiot can get a doctorate here.

Obviously all those liberal arts colleges suck at teaching Critical Race Theory, and grooming too.

People often forget: just because you're smart in one way doesn't mean you're smart in others. Like, Ben Carson was a good brain surgeon... But the moment he starts talking about literally anything else, then suddenly the pyramids become grain silos.

Definitely a difference between the ones that pander and the ones that are actually stupid.

John Kennedy is a prime example. Oxford educated but throws out the most ridiculous southern accent and sayings all day long.

And then there's Louie Gohmert. Like, dude has a Juris doctorate, but I'm sure he's still the type of guy to drink lead lined gasoline.

My degrees are in language and literature.

Caveat:  Language and literature includes grammar*, rhetoric* and logic*, the Trivium, and smattering of the Quadrium, unlike the pseudo-education you get in Commerce, Rekigious Studies, engineeriing and Criminalogy.

In America there are over 16,000 "universities: almost all of them jumped up high schools, normal schools, seminaries or training programmes, combined with brief apprenticeships to weed ou the people too dumb to be interns or coop students.

This explaiins why I can type a cogent argument or thought, while people who are whiz-kid brain surgeons and MBAs can not.

The sign of a smart engineer is english and history courses to compensate for their woeful lack of education.

Those are the ones who join liberal arts students in middle and upper management and the professions about 15 years later according to Bank of America and Bell.

Regardless of the degrees they hold, I would put up money that I could best at least half of them on a standardized test.

Holding a degree is not proof of intelligence, it's just proof of a positive bank account balance.

So not just a Qdiot, but a Three Percenter too.

Three Percenterism is not a group, but a sub-ideology or common belief that falls within the larger antigovernment militia movement. Three Percenters (also known as III%ers or Threepers) claim that only 3% of American colonists fought against the British during the American Revolution, a claim that has never been proven.

While the Santos jokes are funny, I really hope they aren't normalizing the problem. If it becomes normal and funny to always exaggerate his stupid claims, the dumb shiat he actually says could be perceived as benign. Humor is a great way to take power away from something, like jokes about death, but like death just because you can find it funny doesn't mean it's not serious.

I know there's still plenty of people who take the fact that he lied his way into congress seriously, but at the same time the majority of people's 1st and only information about him will probably come from late night jokes diminishing the seriousness of what he represents.

I dunno, maybe I'm overthinking it.
