A series of notes that depict the sometimes horrifying fauna of Australia would be nice:

The Taipan, for example:

Just when no one uses cash anymore. Good timing, Aussies! Only kidding, everyone needs some walkabout money.

A jar of Vegemite and some random deadly insect should be plenty good enough for a grubby tenner.

Fun fact: Australians are shocked and horrified to learn that Foster's is the Australian beer abroad.

My first trip to Australia, a stew woke me up to ask if I wanted a beer. I drearily and eagerly replied "yes, a Foster's?" He scoffed at me and said "no, mate, we don't drink that, have a VB instead."

Oh, the emu has already asserted their dominance by putting themselves on their money, and everything else they can:

Indigenous? You mean people who walked there from Africa 50 or 60 thousand years ago? Wouldn't they technically be Africans?

I don't know why they would be, it's not sold anywhere in Australia (there were about half a dozen bars serving it a decade ago, not anymore) so how would they know what it tastes like.

Also, Foster's sold in the US is generally made in Canada, eh?

A little while ago one of the royals visited Australia, and of course there were protests. One woman was screaming about them being "colonizers".

A white woman.

I want Canada to either keep the Queen on our money or replace her with something who's not the King.

They'll probably continue to use the current monarch on one side of the coinage though, so the AUD won't be completely Charles-free

We used to be able to get it at the Grand Prix (s), that's really the only time I've ever drunk it.

Oh that and airport lounges overseas.

I did find Coopers (last big Australian owned beer maker) to be quite common in Europe (Austria wierdly)

If they have to change the dies anyway now is the time to switch to something else.

Though putting him on the dollar coin would mean you can call them "Chuck Bucks".

Do they call them "bucks" in Australia?

It's definitely from someone confusing the two countries and nothing else.

You mean they aren't going to be celebrating the Alps, their dominance in winter sports, and the Habsburgs.

Maybe they could just use thejuice medias logo:

As a white American, I am opposed to colonization despite having benefitted from it due to my ancestors' choices.

They need to put the most Australian thing of all on their currency:

The fivehead.

And to cover off all the other comments: yes we call them bucks (a 20 is a 'lobster' and a 50 is a 'pineapple'); the one and only time I ever tasted Fosters was as a child in the late 70s, I vaguely remember thinking it tasted 'purple' and metallic; Coopers is the king of Australian beers (esp the pale ale)

They should put creatures on their money in ascending order of most poisonous venom.
