Scott acknowledged that running against McConnell was the likely reason he was booted from the panel despite his relative seniority on the committee and experience running a major company.

"I probably ran the biggest company almost any senator in the history of the country has ever run.
I was governor of the third-biggest economy in the United States, Florida. I've got a business background," Scott said, ticking off his credentials.

I think it should be noted that his tenure as CEO of Columbia/HCA is most well known for presiding over massive Medicare fraud that resulted in a more then $2 billion in fines and penalties and 14 felony convictions. He was pretty much forced to resign and got a golden parachute for his trouble, because being held accountable is for little people. To the criminal enterprise sometimes known as the GOP, this is referred to as "a promising start."

"I probably ran the biggest company scam almost any senator in the history of the country has ever run. I was governor of the third fourth-biggest economy in the United States, Florida. I've got a grifty background!" Scott said, ticking off his credentials.

One sentence
of credentials, and he can't help but lie. Scott was probably a carny before they banned him for having no personal code. FL is 4th, not 3rd, and per-capita GDP is ranked worse than 4th.

The biggest company any senator has ever run might be true, but while Scott was CEO it was guilty of massive fraud, paying $2B in fines--the largest fraud settlement in U.S. history, at the time.

How Scott skated on any charges and failed upwards is a mystery, though Florida! is a partial explanation.

VP and Rep. Cheny was CEO of Halliburton, which was bigger than Scott's company (I think), and might have stolen more federal money.

Fark both of those old frauds.

Stupid of Scott to run against McConnell. Trying to burnish his credentials before his yet to be announced yet already doomed 2024 presidential run, and just racked up another L.

Now that crafty old bugger McConnell will set traps, pitfalls, poison pills, zerg attacks, etc. for Scott.

Scott is also opposed to that very program, and initiated a failed attempt (thus far) to repeal social security, medicare, and federal Medicaid programs with Sen. Ron Johnson of WI and other GQP officials.
Scott is a psychopath who can't even.  McTurtle is just left enough on that psychological scale to preserve his power.

FTFA: "McConnell insisted in November that he didn't have any hard feelings left over after Scott challenged him in an acrimonious race, which McConnell eventually won by a vote of 37 to 10, with one senator voting present."

Scott is a dead man walking. Add in Scott Walker's "plan" which helped keep Turtle out of the Majority Leader position, and this is more than personal. Turtle has turned passive-aggressive into an art form when it comes to political shenanigans.

That's hysterical, he was known in my house during his tenure as "Governor Skeletor" but someone's batboy meme later became my favorite. It's really hard to pick just one meme that covers his career.

The company?Columbia/HCA, where he was CEO back in 1997.
The same company that committed the biggest Medicare/Medicaid fraud in US history.
The same company that forced Scott out after an investigation into the company by the feds seizing records from four El Paso-area hospitals that focused on whether Columbia/HCA had committed Medicare and Medicaid fraud.
The same company that paid the US justice Department twice - $840 million in criminal fines, civil damages and penalties in 2000 and again 2002 for an additional $881 million. $1.7 billion total.

Now is not the time to mention this, Bat-Boy. Would be better if it were never mentioned again. Stupid.

Manchin? The guy Schumer has left on 5 committees for more than a decade?

Why is it that only Republicans can remove committee members?

LOL, is that what it's called now? "Experience running a major company"?

The rest of us call it "fraud," as several others here have observed. But of course, in the Republican party, that's considered a valuable skill. Fraud on a large scale.

Best case but long shot: TFG runs third part in '24. A parade of subpar losers follow and split the GQP vote. Scott loses his Senate seat.

It's a sunny day and I can dream, dammit.
