Don't get me wrong, it's still shiatty, but life saving medication is probably a better trade for personal info than anything anyone else is offering.

Good Rx really helped me out a couple times, and I would have authorized them selling my info in exchange for that help, if they had asked.

GoodRx has saved me at least $1000 in the past year.

Most companies that sell my data actually want money from me.

I have to use GoodRx because the insurance through my work wants me to get my meds from THEM (medical co.) or pay full price. I don't want my work knowing my medical history or the meds I take. So it's GoodRx or go broke.

Like others here, considering the consequences of not being able to get medicine at a few bad times in life, I'm fine with that.

Any of y'all try Mark Cuban's thing yet? Wow, I just looked up the prices. $5 for something I pay $60 for. And I wouldn't have to drive across town.

At this point, I just assume everything about me is readily available somewhere to anyone that's interested in it. Every time a breach or something like this happens, I just shrug and figure it's just duplicated data taking up more space than it's worth anymore.

So someone wants to pay someone else to know I take dick hard pills?

shiat, I'd have told them that for free.

Failing to give a shait here. O noes, more ads that I'll never see through my ad blockers and pi-hole!

GoodRx claims I'd save $ if I show their card at my local CVS when buying cyclosporine. The thing is, I know that CVS doesn't carry it and they'll tell me to order it through the Optum specialty annoyance pharmacy I already use. Given that level of wrongness, I'm hesitant to bother checking the rest of my dozen scripts.

I love how we seem to get the deal on this one.

What really bites is that the pharma co.s can afford to give you a $100 scrip for $10, the same way the cable co. can afford to give you their service for half the normal price. Just give me the pills already for a fair market price without all the jerking around.

GoodRX's video visit program is actually pretty good. I'd absolutely recommend it for people who don't have insurance, they can cover a lot of needs and cheaply.

I know that pharmacies hate dealing with goodrx because... well, pretty much all companies inbetween patient care and dealing with reimbursement issues are a huge pain point.  but for the consumer, they are a good thing.

Clearly you need a refresher on capitalism and maximizing profits through restrictive sales channels, artificially created supply shortages, unhelpful, conflicting and incorrect information delivery, and ultimately consumer confusion.  Because each person who walks up to the pharmacy counter and buys at full price because they're desperate and just need their meds is another win for everyone from the pill manufacturers to the pharmacies.

The company should probably just make sharing limited data part of the TOS...would make them money without the fines and the users don't seem to care much.

of course, how else did you think they were able to do this?

I get a prescription through them.  Once shipping is added in, it's not materially cheaper than what I was paying for it at Walgreen's + insurance (Cuban's thing doesn't take my insurance but it wouldn't matter much) -- about $15 for two statins.  But the convenience of re-ordering online and not having to wait in line is worth it all by itself.

You know what? Take a moment and check your other scrips. Some stuff is covered, other stuff isn't. I assumed Good Rx was a scam when I first learned about it, but the least I've saved has been 50% and I've got a couple of scrips that were more like 80% cheaper just by saying "Good Rx" at the register. If you're okay with the data-selling aspect, it's pretty much the best discount out there.

In other news that's relevant from forever ago to right now and beyond,
NOTHING IS FREE.

So if you thought there was free, you're provably stupid or a 5 year old total noob.
If you claimed there was free, you're more departmental to human existence than a plutonium pellet.

We were all sure you were taking them.  Please close your dining room curtains on Play Day.

Hell, I'm on a $0 co-pay for one of my meds. I don't know how my doctor arranged it, and I'm not going to ask. But it's great. I do have to go through a specialty pharmacy, but I'll take the minor inconveniences that requires. Especially since this medication requires that I inject it into my dick-hole, and they always send a fresh syringe and measuring cup with each refill.
