Wagner is a terrorist organization involved in war crimes

Wagner doesn't have the numbers Stalin had so the 'wall meat' offense won't work for much longer.

I was originally joking when I said that their plan was literally to just send more bullet sponges than the Ukranians have bullets.

Hope those guys get rotated out and see a shrink, because having to sit there for 10 hours - at this point the entire length of daylight and then a bit - shooting people WILL mess you up in the head.

Word has apparently gotten back to the prisoners that joining up with Wagner is a death sentence and they are starting to have trouble getting more cannon fodder.

That's fine, they'll just form penal legions. With bomb collars/vests.

/The control codes for those collars totally won't be hacked within a week.

When your options are getting killed in a Russian prison camp by one of your fellow prisoners or getting killed by a Ukrainian soldier or your own sergeant, or immediately surrendering in hopes you don't get immediately killed? Your choice is death, death, or maybe living long enough to return to your Siberian gulag to finish out your sentence. Decisions, decisions..

I know that warfare has "advanced" over time, but here they are, facing the same charge of the light in the head brigade.  We really need to send Ukraine aircraft, napalm, whatever, so that they can end the lives of these Russian farks quickly, instantly, from above, instead of plunking them off, double-tapping them one by one?

Said the former pacifist.

Wagner is about exhausted its resources there, so Russia has been rotating in regular army instead.  Looks like remnants of Wagner units are being moved down to Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

They're using machine guns to mow down their targets in whole job lots. That's kind of the cutting edge of tech when it comes to stacking enemies like cordwood with out damaging the surrounding area.

They'd be nearly impossible to hack, as that would require them actually working in the first place.

Which might require microchips and other supplies they don't have.

They might be able to make a bunch of collars, and tell people they're bomb collars.  I assume they'd fall apart on their own, assuming there's anything that actually gets made after everyone's taken their cut

Once Ukraine gets Crimea back, set up a resort on a Black Sea beach full of puppies, kittens, and hookers.

Bet that still wouldn't help most of them. The FDA and DEA need to allow a LOT of research into the use of psychedelics to treat PTSD.

Just waves of people getting mowed down for one of the biggest nothings ever..In Vietnam, US troops
faced a very similar situation..The Vietnamese just sent waves of cannon fodder at US troops
during some of their offensives..And it was mostly a slaughter..The differential in deaths  between
US forces and North Vietnamese is insane (North Vietnam (and friends) lost nearly FOUR TIMES the US (and friends). A lot of those people that came back from those wars suffered horribly mentally because they had no choice but to just slaughter other humans that weren't even really so much soldiers as shooting gallery targets.

Not everyone uses American media as a source of information.

Guy I work with is convinced that Russia is kicking Ukraine's ass. He has repeatedly mentioned how Putin is only responding to NATO aggression and he was forced to attack Ukraine  to keep his own borders safe. Putin has apparently accomplished everything he said he would do, and Russia is destroying every single piece of equipment that other countries send over.
The US is encouraging other countries to send tanks, because we know they will be destroyed by the superior Russian equipment and that way we can sell other countries more of our tanks. Also we are sending tanks just so they will be destroyed, (because the Abrahams is no match for  the T90) and then that way we can buy more and Biden gets kickbacks from the arms suppliers.
All the stories we hear about Russian tanks and equipment being destroyed is just propaganda. The Moskva was not actually sunk, the Russians just said that so Ukraine would think it was lost and won't expect the next attack from the ship. And Russia is very much winning the war.
The stories of Russian corruption are completely false and Russian generals haven't been selling reactive armor and troop body armor and replacing it with cardboard. But Zelensky is the most corrupt leader ever, and Biden is giving him billions of dollars in cash, in exchange for 10% back that he keeps in a secret offshore account.

I don't even try and refute anything with facts anymore, as he is impervious to them.

They'll probably have to find all of the mass Graves first. There Russian military is not known for treating civilians well.

Grammar

2023-02-02 5:56:07 AM
FTFA: "The Wagner way of war is to send a first wave of attackers that mainly comprises raw recruits straight out of Russian prisons. They know little of military tactics and are poorly equipped. Most just hope that if they survive their six-month contract they can go home rather than back to a cell
"They make the group - let's say from 10 soldiers - reach 30 meters, then they start digging in to keep the position," Andriy says of Wagner.
Another group follows, he says, to claim another 30 meters. "That's how, step by step, (Wagner) is trying to move forward, while they lose a lot of people in the meantime."

This pretty much sounds like the Western Front in WW1.

Not only are the Russians using 50-year old weapons, they're using 100-year old tactics.

I remember reading a story in a history book about personnel using their 105s as giant shotgun when loaded with beehive rounds. Next morning they would find VCs peppered with darts, their arms nailed to the wooden stocks of their AKS. That must have been fun.

From the description of getting shot and not feeling it and still advancing until they bled out, I was thinking PCP/"Angel Dust".   Not sure how rare that is these days, though.
