I'm the CEO but my staff are bullying me. What do I do?

Go for a swim in a room full of Benjamins.

You're the CEO, you can just fire them

Firing just one or two should be enough to send a message.

The message that he's not going to fire us all and we can bully the boss harder.

TFA suggests the problem is with 2 people, so firing 2 people would just about do it.

Of course, that all depends on whether it's actual bullying or just a bad CEO's perception of bullying by people trying to do the right thing in spite of the CEO.

'They are both smart, articulate"

like maybe more than you possibly?

like maybe if you just hit cruise control and let them do their thing the business would be just fine and you can just collect your paycheck for letting the "smart, articulate" people run the show, like might make good business sense anyway?

Just say'n, if they are smart and all, then maybe they are just smart enough to not let you exert too much influence.

Or is that just literally an impossibility because yo are for sure that much smarter than they are combined?
So smart you're asking someone who never CEO'd before how to better CEO?

Ask your dad.  After all, he (evidently) gave you a company that you are woefully unequipped to run - so assuming that he built it, he might have some insights into whateverinthehell your problem is.

Why do I get the feeling this "bullying" is people exercising their rights to not be treated like property?

"I need you to work 90 hours this week and be on call 24/7.  Sorry, you're salaried, hands are tied."
"No."
"Stop bullying me!"

I didn't know that was an option but willing to give it a try.

That's what I assumed as well. Nobody that weak and dumb would be able to build a company from nothing. They can only take it over and run it into the ground, as people with degrees and experience just sit there able to do nothing.

If you're actually getting bullied by your workers then you're just not cut out for a leadership role, it's a talent more than a skill.  If they're bullying you, imagine what they're doing to their coworkers.

The letter after that one really seals the "bosses have it sooo rough" story.  An employee in probationary period gets better job, instead of just leaving during the probate period like they have the absolute right to (and the employer has the right to fire without cause with no repercussion), the advice is to talk to the current and prospective employer about whose feeling will be hurt most.  Just leave, employee, you have every right in to world to.
