Nonsense.

You should know by now that as someone goes through a nomination and confirmation to a SCOTUS seat they instantly and incontrovertibly become devoid of any bias or preconception, and magically become as babes in the woods. That's how you can present a hyperpartisan like Brett Kavanaugh - whose interest in the Presidential Staff was far more than professional, if you catch my meaning - as someone who would be a legitimate and faithful caller of legal balls and strikes; and how four or five Justices at their confirmation hearings can say that Roe was "settled" only to sign an opinion that begins "Roe was incorrectly decided from the start".

You have to account for the fact that donning that black robe for the first time completely wipes their minds - John Roberts is thus as pure as driven snow.

// suggesting otherwise threatens the legitimacy of the Court, and we don't want that now, do we?

Guys, the Supreme Court is not a political institution. It's completely apolitical. I know this because Justice Coney-Barrett told me it was while she was standing next to Senator Mitch McConnell at the McConnell Center in Kentucky.

I did not have on my bingo card "judicial branch takes a resounding lead over executive and legislative branches in the category of blatant corruption." This is how corporations became people.

You want that to change? You're gonna need guns. It won't change under our current constitution.

There are literally no ethics rules governing the Supreme Court. Because the ultimate arbiters of the law of the land shouldn't have any pesky restrictions on them in a democracy.

If the current SCOTUS replies, it'll boil downto "shut up and obey, peasants, we don't have to explain anything".

It won't even be their first time doing that.

Hmmm...my apologies for not going into detail, or were you put off more by my word choice?  I do recognize how simple I am, but please don't let my brevity here be the proof...there is much behind my desire to see "things blown up" as it were...as there is much to have reconstructed.  have a good day kid...try not to worry about me so much.

And if there isn't an explicit quid followed within 24 hours by a prearranged and explicit pro quo complete with signed and notarized terms by both parties, then it is not bribery and is of no concern or consequence to the good working order of government and justice.

Are you assuming that every lawyer she placed in with a law firm has retired or died since 2005?

So... tell me where I'm wrong. I know the phrase 4D chess is over used these days but Roberts wants to drag his court back from the abyss but had little ability to force ethics on his colleagues (obviously Thomas being the worst offender)  so he gets his wife to point out his and her lack of ethics. And then he...makes.. um... there are these.... Huh?  Well I thought I had something there... come to think of it, isn't Roberts able to enact ethics rules on his own?   Now I'm just confused,

No, I'm assuming she's no longer doing a job that requires her to place attorneys for a commission.

If judges have to start recusing themselves because they know, or someone they're related to knows an attorney and/or they've worked with them before.....there aren't going to be many judges left to hear cases.
