Just saying, after zooming in and studying the pixels, I think somebody backed onto the lift without checking to make sure it was up first.

The rear of that car took some serious damage and the lift tracks are smashed down in the middle.

No injuries is the only thing I see pushing back against your story. 
That, and they didn't mention bringing in a haz-mat crew to clean out the driver's seat.

No injuries reported doesn't mean much when it comes to workplace accidents.
