(CNN)   Have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure-grain alcohol?   (cnn.com) divider line

Everything in moderation.

Rainwater? Really?

If you're anywhere remotely near civilization, I'd trust the municipal water over rainwater ANY day.

How do they define ultra processed?

2023-02-01 12:42:30 PM
"However, people who eat more ultra-processed foods also tend to "drink more fizzy drinks and less tea and coffee, as well as less vegetables and other foods associated with a healthy dietary pattern," said Duane Mellor, a registered dietitian and senior teaching fellow at Aston Medical School in Birmingham, UK, in an email.
"This could mean that it may not be an effect specifically of the ultra-processed foods themselves, but instead reflect the impact of a lower intake of healthier food," said Mellor, who was not involved in the study."

So like most nutrition studies there correlation but not causation. And they define ultra processed as anything that isn't raw veg or meat. Cool cool cool cool

It's been boiled and distilled, so it's sterile.

I take moderation to an excess.   For me, moderation is an all nor nothing experience

The experiment you imagine you would do to appease the correlation/causation xkcd god would never get past any irb.

Especially mid-century. Yummy lead soot. I need to ask a few neurologist if the General's mental decline might indicate lead poisoning.

talkyournonsense: How do they define ultra processed?

Conveniently they never say. One time someone said "10 or more ingredients" which would classify all cooking not done by white people as ultra processed

I am aware because some of the true valid nutrition studies in science were done in residential schools in Canada by starving indigenous children to death.

Forever chemicals and microplastics are omnipresent anymore and the consequences probably won't to be known for who knows how long.
Still, probably not good to eat avoidable toxins.

A word they started using because processed didn't sound scary enough and people were ignoring them?
