If you bought the dip on gold last summer, when it was trading around 1680-1700 per ounce, you're in a good spot

If you had bought last March you'd be down $50/oz. No idea why it's skyrocketed since Nov 3rd other than central banks but that's not much of an explanation.

The only gold we have lying around is what my wife's mother strapped to her body while fleeing the communists.

Pretty sure $20k or so isn't worth the sentimental value of family heirlooms.

The BIS (in Dec) just gave the green light to central banks allowing them to hold up to 2% of reserves in bitcoin starting 2025.
