I'm sure some Republicans think they'll be able to talk Cheetolini out of another run. But they forget a simple truth: running/being the US President was the most successful scam Trumpenfuhrer has EVER pulled. He needs the money, and no he can't be bought off. He wants it ALL.
Not getting the nomination isn't going to stop him. He'll claim Democrats voted against him in the Primaries, the deep state conspired against him, Democrats changed his votes because they're scared to run against him - he'll say everything, but he'll keep running.
Trump doesn't care about America, or even Republicans. He needs the money.

The headline gives DeSantis some credit for snappiness in the comeback that wasn't there in reality. This is much more typical of DeSantis:

"The good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that whether they re-elect you or not. And I'm happy to say - you know in my case - not only did we win re-election, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican governor candidate has had in the history of the state of Florida. ... That verdict has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida."

I don't know. A few of out fake liberal clowns are pushing the theory - trying to make people complacent, and discourage voter participation.
They will shut up after the GOP nominates him, of course, but by then they will have flushed months and millions down assorted drains.
And the GOP will still be on track with their plan to install him using illegitimate EC votes.

This is the problem with declaring two years in advance. You need to spend two years campaigning for something most people won't care about for another 14 months or so.

But Trump didn't declare as a shrewd campaign move, he did it thinking it would keep him out of prison.

4 weeks ago the entire Republican party was tearing themselves apart over who got to be speaker of the house. None of those internal rifts have healed. If anything, conservatives are now more divided than ever.  They have no clear leader, no agenda and the factions inside the GOP are all more or less equal in terms of money and political influence.  They're positioned for a very ugly civil war with themselves....and they've already started to fight.

The party doing their best to wipe their hands of him and actively discourage him to run (while actively encouraging others to run in the primary)

They're walking a fine line of not having him as nominee and not pissing off his base. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull it off, but they are going pretty hard against Trump as nominee

The data analyst part of my brain wants to yell at you for making unfounded predictions without evidence.

Thing is, we really don't know if Trump still has widespread support among GOP voters. Not even the GOP can say with any degree of certainty just how much Trump has in the gas tank...and Trump himself just lies about it.
