You said that last year...

I was at his first game at Michigan in 1995.  I remember thinking, "Who's the lanky kid wearing #10?"  A lot of good, a lot of not so good during the years.  Maybe Rodgers will hang it up soon as well.  The next generation of quarterbacks ate looking good and it's their time to shine

I really home someone submitted "GOAT see ya later"

He'll play in Miami next year

There's always a place in SF if you *really* don't want to leave. You're healthier than all their QBs combined at the moment

This just gives him a chance to change his mind again, and then have his kids petition the court for emancipation.

2023-02-01 8:42:55 AM
I'm sure he'll change his mind in a few weeks.

I remember seeing Drew Brees at a party in the summer of 1998 and thinking "Yeah, that's the backup.  He barely played last year.  He might be good."

The second most surprising thing was how short he is.  He's still listed at 6'0" but unless he grew from the last time I saw him, I'd say he's 5' 10".

Miami has to play games in open-air stadiums New England, Buffalo, and New York.

"And this time, I mean it!"
Well, we'll see....

For real this time?

Maybe he's retired.  Maybe it's a negotiating step to let teams know they need to bring an armored truck if they want to talk.

Or he'll just take the $37.5 million per year for the next 10 years to play with a telestrator.

He chose football over his supermodel wife for a wildcard loss in his last playoffs.

Not sure if that was a good trade.

Ooh, as I suspected, a camera that I've wanted for years is still on sale and the deal did NOT end yesterday like B&H said.  Not that there's any way I could ever justify spending $4,000 on a camera...  I'm guessing Pentax wants to match Fuji's price point for digital medium format and free up some cash while they develop their new film camera.

Oh, but to have a digital body that can use the big lens...

It might be true this year, he can go home and not be around those annoying kids and nagging wife.

He could get another supermodel or Instagram thot wife with just a snap of the fingers.

I'm guessing he retires to Las Vegas. But as long as he doesn't retire to the Panthers I don't really care.

What? No wife and no football? He is going to play the field like crazy. Hopefully he doesn't end up with a dozen more kids in the next couple of years.

The last thing he says is "I wouldn't change a thing."

Forgetting just the "supermodel" part of wife, and along with their kids and his oldest, that last sentence is probably not true - and even if it was, it's pretty awful to say publicly if his kids see it.

Tough to imagine Brady playing football was the only issue going on between them.  He was guaranteed to retire far earlier than most husbands retire.  There also wasn't much time between hearing they were splitting and his supermodel wife being connected to some judo instructor or whatever.  So my best guess is it was a good trade.

No matter how hot someone is, someone somewhere is tired of putting up with their shiat.

And on the very same day, Ozzy Osbourne tenders his resignation. Brady dumps Gisselle. Ozzy dumps Sharon. They 'retire' on the same day. I knew it! Love works in mysterious ways.

Super cool that you attended his first college game. "A lot of good, a lot of not so good" is how you characterize his career, though? That's... underselling it just a bit. He ended on a turd of a season and a comical playoff elimination, but that was 1 year out of 20+. He had easily the best career of any player during the SB era when you balance personal and team success.

And this is coming from someone who has never once rooted for him to win a game.

Not necessarily. Maybe Tommy Boy wants to know that, so he can follow in Randy Johnson's (large) footsteps and start a photography hobby/side business.

He saw 80 For Brady last night and realized how ridiculous he'll look in an NFL jersey in 35 years.

Brock is supposed to be back in time... but they won't really know until they get in there.  If he needs full tommy john, he'll be out all year.

If the 49ers ask, I feel like Tom will return for that.

But probably only that.

Bucs are not close to a super bowl right now and that's his motivation... so that's probably the biggest reason he decided to retire.  There's no really good options for a 'just a QB away' situation aside from the 49ers if Purdy can't come back.

If they want him. I wouldn't be surprised if Brady got word that Shannahan and Lynch weren't interested in him again and he said, "F-It, I'm outta here."
