Considering this is The Big Think, the science writing equivalent of rancid diarrhoea, Quanta ranks as just rotting faeces.

No one reads The Big Think, The Conversation, or magazines like Quanta for the quality of their science writing, never mind calling them 'responsible'. They are, however, good examples of how to dumb things down sufficiently far so that other media magazines can "write" about them for tweets and giggles.

So, what Metro.co.uk is, but "for science!"? I honestly thought that was what Scientific American had covered.
