Too bad Neal McDonough is a evangelical wack job, I like him in a lot of things, just like I like a lot of things Adam Baldwin is in. I will continue to watch the quality stuff they do but it's disappointing when you find out people are mentally lost.

If you see just one thriller this year in which a climactic car chase is followed by the director-star breaking character to deliver a five-minute sermon straight into the camera - followed by three more minutes of Mike Huckabee leading viewers in prayer to accept Jesus into their hearts, before the end credits roll - then make it "Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist," the latest in a series of apocalyptic films based on the bestselling Christian book series.

No.
Hell no.

I want a movie where God raptures all the religious folk off the planet said he's sorry about the inconvenience and leaves.  Except he leaves all the kids because they can't have proper belief.  Places like the US south are overrun by children with hardly any adults.  Then there's some adults stealing all the shut from the gullible who are in hell now until they get it right

I tried to get through the books because I loved the premise, but they were so poorly written, I had to stop midway through the second book. I tried to watch the first movie but it was so poorly done that I didn't watch another. This having a good review might entice me to see it. There have been some decent releases by Christian studios.

I don't know, I've been a MiSTie since I was a kid and the only movies they really can't do anything with are boring ones and this at least doesn't seem like it's boring.

But WTF is Nick Cage doing in this? I mean I know he'll do anything because he has tax problems but this can't pay very much.

It gives away the plot and the ending.  The "rise" thing has been an annoyance to me for years.  I think "the rise of cobra" kicked off the fit of more recent ones.  It's just so unnecessary.

"The Rise of Skywaker " was especially lame. I mean I realize it was about Rey taking on the Skywaker name but it was more of a clerical formality than any dramatic event in the story.

I was kind of hoping that they would build on The Last Jedi end the whole Jedi/Sith thing completely in the movie and have future Force users follow a "Skywalker" philosophy that Rey establishes based on Luke's teachings.

It would also follow the Revenge of the Sith/Return of the Jedi pattern where you'd have the two ancient competing factions around the Force that both failed and then a new path in the final movie in the last trilogy.

I watched a similar film at the parish hall at the Catholic church I attended back in the late 1970s. All I remember is that some dude shaving in front of the bathroom mirror suddenly vanished when the Rapture occurred. It was scary because Pope Paul VI had just died, then a month later, Pope John Paul I died...I thought that those were signs that the Rapture was imminent.

The whole Rapture thing (pre-Trib or mid-Trib) is non-BIblical. The word "rapture" occurs a grand total of zero times in any well-known version of the Bible. It appears in only two places in two different obscure translations (the Darby Bible Translation and the Weymouth New Testament), and neither passage has anything to do with End-Times Prophecy. The concept was invented around 1830 by John Nelson Darby, the man who invented Dispensaitonalism which is the real name of the division of pseudo-Protestantism that passes for "generic" "just plain" "non-denominational" "born-again" fundamentalist evangelical "Christianity," but isn't actually any of those things in quotes.

The :"Rapture" flatly contradicts a verse in Revelation 13 in which it's stated that it's given unto the Beast to make war with the saints (saved Christians) and overcome them. How can he do that if they've been Raptured away? To explain that little conundrum, the Rapture-believers came up with an impressive bit of sophistry with absolutely zero Biblical justification: "Tribulation Saints" (the title one of the Left Behind septology [I think the second book in the series]). These are people who weren't already saved Christians at the time of "the Rapture," but become saved afterwards, during the Tribulation, and it's they who the Beast makes war against and (temporarily) overcomes. The whole Left Behind series is based on this sophistry. The heroes (with names like "Rayford Steele" and "Bruce Barnes" and "Buck Williams" ― oooh, manly!) are all "Tribulation Saints."

Was there ever a movie so bad that the production company thought of releasing it direct-to-home-video, but realized it was too bad even for that so, to recoup some of their investment, they released it direct-to-MST3K?

The rapture already happened in 1997. Only three people were deemed worthy. They all lived in Liechtenstein.
