(IndyStar)   Here's a link to some photos of an "adult baby store". What's your opinion on a place like this and also, do you think this could be a successful business? Subby's opinion is on the left   (indystar.com) divider line

What the hell kind of formatting is that?

After reading the article I have to wonder if "The store sells adult diapers and other baby clothes and accessories made for adults."

2023-01-31 3:30:24 PM
It's a great idea as long as it doesn't hurt anyone (who doesn't consent), you like to sell it, and enough people want to buy it that you can make money.

Noblesville, Indiana? Holy crap, my girlfriend from college 50 years ago, lives there now. I'm going to have to drop her a line...

Oh, this story is 6 months old. I wonder if they're still in business.

Here's a story related to it that came out earlier this month:

Meh. To each their own, as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult.

I'm never one to kink shame, but ABDL and infantilism are just not my thing.

Doesn't seem like a big deal while living in a world where people wear their gross filthy pajamas out to go about town.

Honestly, it's a fairly niche fetish, from my experience.  When I managed an adult book, video and novelties store, we did keep a supply of "adult baby" gear, but it wasn't a big seller.

Now, the "sexy French maid" outfits were very popular, especially with the local college football players.

I can't see how a shop like that would have enough traffic to support itself. As an online shop, maybe.
There are folks running around Second Life who RP this kind of thing, and even there, they are not well tolerated out in the general public. Not surprised the town would get their britches in a knot over this kind of store.

Between our three kids we changed diapers continuously for just over 10 years. I would endeavor to indulge my wife in any kink she'd be interested to try.

But if that kink is diapers I'm gonna lawyer right up.

I'm not clicking that, but came to say that the Kazu Makino (and Ryuichi Sakomoto) record Adult Baby was interesting and at times remarkably pretty.

Anybody willing to take on indulging another's infantilizing fetish may as well learn to sew the giant onesies. You're already going above and beyond wiping hairy asses, so you might as well have another home-economics skill in your bag.

This is what mail order and the internet were made for, so unless they've got an opium den in the back, I can't see the benefits of a brick-and-mortar store. Tax write off maybe.

Though I could see them putting a huge changing station in the restroom as a draw.

I don't care what you do as long as it doesn't harm another person and it's consensual.

Obviously super niche but Who knows? My son has a friend who makes fur suits, masks and such for furries and they are making decent money doing that. This HAS to have an online component but if the market exists then good luck to your weird selves.

I remember that episode of CSI - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0534710/

It was so cute when Grissom and Nick were at the adult baby store asking cop questions but the oblivious woman behind the counter was telling Nick he was lucky to have such a nice daddy.

It would be better if it was a baby adult store, selling tiny business suits and Itty bitty briefcases.

"We do have many customers who use it for medical needs," Ryan Polokoff the owner of My Inner Baby said. "We don't distinguish we don't ask our customers hey what are you coming in here for how we can help."

LOL - yeah, that's going to convince an Indiana judge that you're not running a sex-related business.

Not that I think they should be closed down - to each their own.  But the right move would have been to challenge the ordinance on free speech grounds, not try to make an obvious bullshiat argument that you're not a store for people who like baby play.

My gran had two sayings she was fond of - "never eat anything bigger than your head" and "never sit on anything smaller than your ass".  A proper flange is necessary, especially when your plumbing is involved.

I never, ever want to play "grab the doorknob with the tongs" ever again.
