Republicans would burn this country down before they allow any poor person relief.
How very Christian of them.

When I talk about this with my parents, I make a point of specifiying which party is forgiving my debt, and which one wants to see me bleed dry trying to pay it off.  It goes in one ear and out the other, tho......gggrrr

Go ahead. Tank student loan forgiveness. Wall street will never get another bail out from Congress ever again.

Go on. Do it. Set that precedent.

when everything is at-stake, nothing is at-stake.   People are going get fed up with this bullshiat.

Shouldn't they just rule whether or not there's standing and then kick it back down if they say there is?

So we're screwed then, right?

Yup.
SCOTUS is already hiding behind a lot of security guards. Apparently they want to make sure everyone hates them forever.

Isn't there a general strike happening in France because they upped the age of retirement/pension collection (for sumbunall) by 2 years?

Meanwhile, in the "land of the free" we're fighting for table scraps.

To put it in highly technical legal terms, I guess there's a "screw it this is gonna wind up here anyway let's skip some steps" doctrine, right?

At this point I say Biden just clears it all and asks Scrotus to "enforce their ruling". At this point the economy is going to tank anyway so why not get some benefit from it.

We barely avoided a national rail strike, and I'm not entirely sure that's off the table.

We're close.

Why don't you give up your avocado toast and lattes for a week, zoomer? Maybe then you can pay society back.

Kidding aside, I'd like to see some legislation around people who consolidated their student loans some time ago so it's no longer technically a student loan. They were trying to deal with the environment as it was, and could use some relief too.

If I can't get that, I'll be annoyed, but not annoyed enough to sink it for other people. I hope you kids get it better than we did, and I don't mind a portion of my taxes going to that.

Weird how a government designed by aristocratic slaveholders would allow the judicial branch to make legal decisions without any oversight or accountability. What an unexpected flaw.

Yep, one of those realists.  I empathize with the plight of the dreamer; but I am not capable of seeing the illusion anymore.  I must start with the current state when prognosticating about future events.
