But Rudy, John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis are already fluent in "grift".

My sister is a lawyer who recently left a firm and struck out on her own. I had the idea of doing a startup to give people legal advice, and bring her on as a partner to make sure everything was legit. It took her about ten seconds to talk me out of it.

Short version - there's a LOT of laws around who can and can't practice law, and even if you put a banner saying "THIS IS NOT LEGIT ADVICE, TALK TO A REAL LAWYER" you're still likely to get into legal trouble. On top of that, your customers have every right to sue you into non-existence, even if the service you provide is good.

Legal services are an industry that really needs disruption. Our current model makes the law accessible to the rich and inaccessible to the middle class and poor. Unfortunately, there is so much risk involved, no one with less than a billion in the bank would ever consider doing it. If you have a billion in the bank, you aren't exactly motivated to deconstruct the system that protects you.

I hate everyone involved in this story.

Browder is so going to get 1) his ass arrested and 2) his ass sued off.  Apart from the legal shenanigans you saw from Team Trump, the legal field takes itself seriously.  Every state's AT is going to go after him.

So I'm supposed to think the guy trying to offer low end legal services to people otherwise denied is the bad guy and the lawyers protecting their intentionally arcane and inaccessible vocation are the good guys?

Does the guy trying to offer low end legal services have the license to do so in my state?  If not then how does he prove he knows what he knows the law?

So a total scam. Who could have guessed?

so you're either a lawyer or have never needed the services of a lawyer?

If the techbro in question was actually trying to help, he wouldn't be phrasing it as legal advice. It would be a "consultation of your rights" or some other marketing nonsense. Saying you're giving legally sound information sets you up for a lot of liability. You don't just get to scream "DISRUPTION" like Michael Scott's bankruptcy and do whatever you want. Laws exist for a damn reason.

I'd support an AI network that has access to a massive legal database of cases and can give you a general guideline if the case has merit based on comparable cases/outcomes. But then it would direct you to an actual attorney who can make a judgement call. The AI is functionally a paralegal and secretary.

If you want to fix available counsel options to the poor, the solutions are political not technological.

Yes, but he has to 'pay' them.

I just know better than to Rando Internet Clown Shoe when I need expert advise.  Sad you don't.

How does this whole AI lawyering thing work if you go to trial?  Do they roll up one of those telepresence robots with a VTuber avatar?

Pathetic meatbags of the jury, this unit is a simple country neural network, but even the most rudimentary pattern recognition algorithm can tell that this unit's client is innocent of all charges in the tragic death of [INSERT VICTIM HERE].

AI is absolutely fantastic at discovery but I would never want an AI to represent me in court.

He should seriously advertise his lawyer AI as ranking higher among legal scholars than President Trumps legal team.

Then the legal community might nod and understand the market he's targeting.

I think this is the same kid that created a process to fight simple parking tickets. I'm assuming the AI isn't intended for anything beyond straight forward case like speeding tickets or whatever, making legal advice affordable in cases where otherwise the cost of hiring a lawyer would be prohibitive.

"Human intelligence?"

"Objection! Assumes facts not in evidence!"
