Seems like the media's coverage for the presidential cycle is to hyper focus on African Americans protesting legitimate injustices, in an effort to scare whyte peepo into going to the polls *while* doing everything else in their power to keep people ignorant to all the problems that will be stemming from fall-out of overturning Roe.

/Ow! My Democracy!

Yeah, they really should have ignored this.  Pretty much anything that might increase voting turnout of the wrong people should not be reported on.

The cops get up early to beat the crowds

This stuff needs to come out of the police union bank accounts and pension funds.  They're the ones who promote and defend violence against citizens. They need insurance or settlement plans that aren't paid for by the people they assault and murder.

The beatings will continue.

Morale? What's that got to do with the beatings?

So, not only are you paying millions for "police" you're paying millions more for the harm they're causing.

Defund the police before you go broke.

It's bad business for a community to pay to beat itself up, let alone paying for it twice.

$5 million to the undercover cop that the riot police beat, $5.2 million to be distributed among the little people beaten by the police.

And in St. Louis there are two police unions/organizations. Guess why? Go ahead. Guess.

And half of the cash went to pay their own who was beaten by their finest while undercover. Ta da!

Damn, they should have just drove around with those fancy PD trucks shooting those strip club cash guns out the windows. It literally would have been cheaper and more effective. "Hell, they're a shiatty bunch but they did pay my rent this month, so toss up"

I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: So, not only are you paying millions for "police" you're paying millions more for the harm they're causing.

You ever been in St. Louis city? Defunding them won't do anything because useless doesn't need funding. A couple of years ago they lifted the residency requirement, so now police are free to live in the kushy county with trees and nice neighbors, and only have to deal with the urban poors when they're on the clock. Great morale boost for the white liberals who live in the city and want to cos-play they're living the big city life like Chicago or NYC. The realisty is that they get their cars broken into every other week, while the city cops get to park in a nice comfy driveway at night, 20 miles away.

There's a lot of backstory to this. A lot of people live in the county and just go into the city for baseball games and restaurants and so on, because it's literally a 15min drive for most. If you go into St. Louis city on a typical evening, it's almost a ghost town - completely unlike any other urban center you've ever seen.

The only realistic solution is to merge the city and county into one unified metropolitan area with a single police force. Rex Sinquefield and others have been pushing that for years. But the general consensus in the county is "y'all stay in your f*cking ghetto because we like going out NYE without being hit by gunfire".

at least a portion of these settlements need to be paid out of the Cops pension fund for that municipality.  At this point, dying in near poverty may be the only incentive to making these farks behave.

when are cities gonna wake up and smell the blood and stop paying for this shiat?
