I have the slightest curiosity if this is some kind of meta promotional stunt. A major plot element was the show's rocky status with Hulu do to relationships with the top exec at Hulu.

Probably not though.

I am going to stop watching the 1st season of any show. Give me 2 seasons and good word of mouth or I am not willing to invest myself in the story arc.

Johnny Knoxville being great in it was the most surprising thing.  I was familiar enough with the rest of the main cast to know what to expect, but he was way better than I anticipated.

That's a bummer. I enjoyed the Johnny Knoxville/Kerry Kinney bad momma thing they had going. It was unhealthy as F&%K but fun to watch.

Lot of fun. Give it a watch. You'll be glad you did.

Good cast, not a great cast, suffered from not having a major young talent;  Everyone in that show was well over 30, half the cast was nearly geriatric. Only Murders In The Building did it right: co lead Selena Gomez and all her young hot thing friends to balance the aged Short and Martin.  Even their Kojak reboot within a show had young talent.

If you had told me even two years ago the best thing about a new show starring Steve Martin and Martin Short was Selena Gomez, I wouldn't have believed you. Yet here we are. She really makes the show work.

Watched it. So close to being funny. Soooo close. But not quite there. I thought it might be able to gather more momentum and get better with a second season, but meh, whatever. This isn't something that's going to leave a hole in my life.

Martin and Short would agree with you. They have been effusive in their praise for her.

Even wilder: She makes *them* funnier. They are doing some of the best work in their careers, and it's entirely because they're playing off her.

I watched it and thought it was good, but a lot of times it seemed they couldn't decide if they were a smart parody of a sitcom from 20 years ago or actually one of those shows (at least as far as the episode plots go). If they could have stuck more with the smarter parody angle it could have been hilarious.
