I used to have to kill giant marmots all the time in an old school text based video game I played.  They were tough, I wouldn't want to get near one.

Then again, some American adults are 100 pounds or less, and some are 600 pounds or more. So, OK.

They have an excuse for their big weight difference.

Marmots are true hibernators: they gorged themselves before spending six months sleeping in their burrows.

Primates aren't hibernators.
