(CNN)   Apparently, there has been about a 60% decline in the market for Giacometti's chandeliers since 2018. However, this one may still give a decent return to the guy who spent $309 on it originally   (cnn.com) divider line

This reminds me of what I like about Antiques Roadshow , someone has a thing they got for a low price and the appraiser tells all about it and goes into a lengthy list of all the things wrong with it then they reveal the estimate.

I followed a link on the link to the most expensive sculptures.

I don't want to sound like a philistine, but the prices? givemeabreak.  This is just some kind of dick-waving contest, isn't it?

/Most of it looks like crap art clogging up displayed in the commons of your local community college, circa 1975-1985

Speaking to CNN on Monday, McMullan said it was a blend of Giacometti's works and styles, unlike anything else she has seen from the sculptor, which is one of the ways in which the piece is unique.

So it gets its value by looking nothing like a Giacometti? 
Right......
