They are fantastic live. I wish Miku had a translator at the show I saw, she gave a kinda lengthy talk in between songs, but still, amazing show. Misa and Kanami had an incredible jam/duel.

I took much ridicule from friends in 2021 after suggesting that Babymetal was the next big thing in the USA.  Yui leaving and Mikio passing made me talk sports instead of music with those bozo's.

Lovebites also got a new member, replacing their bassist with a woman named Fami.  They put out a new single around Christmas to show her off, and what the next album will be like.

Their style is a lot closer to Dragonforce, though the new single also ads a touch of the symphonic.

def not trying to "stop liking what I don't like!", but their music never feels like it's not a schtick to me. Cutesy, tiny Japanese girl voices over stock 'heavy' guitars seems like the focal point of the group. I love plenty of music with Japanese women (acid mothers temple, cibo matto, boredoms, melt banana, pizzicato 5, hiromi, Boris), but none of them fetishize that part quite like BM or BMs fan base. I bet a lot of the weirdo yellow-fever weebs who love them would drop them in a second if they were white, fat &/or ugly.

They are interchangeable teenage girls in schoolgirl outfits, I'm shocked people think anyone buys the "but I really just love their music" line. It's like Bronies, justify it in your head however you like, doesn't mean we aren't going to judge you for it.
