I wonder if Mahomes can even walk today? I am hopeful for a Superb Owl game that is not completely lopsided but I'm not holding out much hope of KC being able to score any TDs against Philly.

Isn't Philly more known for their offense?

I'm worried about the KC defense keeping up.

Philly has a very legit defense. Probably stronger than what KC has seen so far in the playoffs.

each and EVERY time I drive the I-10 to downtown Phoenix, right at the bend by downtown by 7th, I think of driving to Cardinals Stadium for the 2009 Eagles @ Cards NFC Championship game.

traffic - 65MPH, 4 lanes each way - had inexplicably backed up.  It was some Eagles fans , going about 20-25MPH, gesturing in what, when I passed on the left lanes, asking, "where's the stadium?"  there's thing newfangled technology, called, a map, Philly fan.  Grow a brain sometime.

Cars honking, people pointing west.  "YES, GO THIS WAY, DO YOU NOT SEE THE CARDINALS FLAGS EVERYWHERE?"

bonus:  we beat their ass (but of course lost the Super Bowl).  Philly's going to win another I think.  advantage Philly

If it was really rigged, the Bills would have won last weekend so they could play that dumb netural-site conference game the league seems to have such a hardon for.

I put in a SB bet for Philly pre-nfcc, when it was +240. Looking pretty good now.
If I win I'll invest the proceeds... into the Sixers winning.

yeah, I'm quite sure the Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, or even KC will go play a "home" conference championship game in Seattle, Arizona, or LA.  The Packers barely went to London 3 months ago after other teams had made multiple appearances (apparently to appease the local [Green Bay] economic interests).

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/why-the-packers-have-never-played-an-international-game-in-the-franchises-history-until-week-5-vs-giants/

The NFL has been playing games outside of the U.S. for decades and regularly played games in London since 2007 in an attempt to broaden its overall reach, so why wouldn't they want to take one of their best assets and put it on the world stage? They probably did, but it's the Packers who have routinely refused to play outside of the country.

The reason for that is that they did not want to lose a home game off of its schedule. Green Bay, considered to be the smallest market in the NFL, would see a drastic economic impact if they decided to take a regular-season home game away from Lambeau Field.

stupid idea, NFL.  HFA should mean something, not just a cash grab.

No, there isn't a week off. This weekend is the flag football scrimmage, geez. But yeah, Mahomes has 2 weeks to rest his ankle, he'll be fine.

The extra week will help, but high ankle sprains usually sideline players for a good amount of time. I know he was able to get out there yesterday but I can't imagine that was helping the healing process a lot.

Yeah, everyone in Baltimore noticed that. When Patrick played through the pain and brought victory home. The Ravens are going to show Lamar's fragile ass the door.

i was discredited here - rightfully! - by citing how Jim Rome had on former Chargers team doctor David Chao*, 2-3 weeks ago. On not just Jackson's high ankle, but how 3-4 QBs this year, came back after, 2-5 weeks. this season alone.  Grade 2 (i think?), Dr. said is a 2-4 week injury.  but Jackson said he had swelling / lack of movement. "Grade 3, Grade 4 is ACL. usually means surgery, but, if no surgery, will be worse, and, then rehab, so, Grade 2, 5-6 weeks out, there should be no issues."

You guys, the Eagles were super lucky to escape with that win. The Niners are the real deal and have the best run defense in the league. They would never give up 254 yards and 4 rushing TDs. Plus, Brock Purdy was perfect... he had a completion percentage of 100%.

And the Eagles still haven't played any good teams. That won't change at the SB, either. The Chiefs are completely banged up and not a single Eagle is currently playing injured-- in fact, they haven't sustained a single injury all season. Josh Allen is definitely the MVP, he scores a higher % of his team's TD than Hurts does, and analytics tell the whole story. Guy can't lead, he's squeaking by on all these 1 and 2 point victories and they played in SUCH a weak division, not one where 3 of the 4 teams made it past Wild Card weekend.

I'm putting all my Bitcoin on the Chiefs.

I know your post is sarcasm, but the Niners and Cowboys homers are blowing up the Eagles boards with similar takes today. "Everybody knows the Cowboys are the NFL's best team." "If Purdy doesn't get hurt, Niners run away with that game." I can't decide if it's more funny or sad.

I love the Iggles, but those Chiefs are for real, too. Should be a great game.

Definitely. I don't know how any NFL fan could be completely dismissive of an opponent. There's so much parity in this league and crazy sh*t happens all the time. The Chiefs are a force.

It's been an incredible ride with the Birds the season, and every week I hold my breath waiting for the inevitable costly mistakes. We sure saw them during the Minshew starts. But how could anyone not look forward to this matchup? Two potent offenses, Andy vs. the Eagles storyline, Kelce vs Kelce.

Surely you realize that it was a work stoppage because of his (lack of a) contract, I hope. Even Harbaugh knew that because you could hear his reluctance to discuss Lamar's availability, speaking in very vague terms so he didn't futz the injury report and get fined. Lamar was good to go with weeks left in the season.

He reportedly said no to painkillers on game day - so his pain was probably a LOT worse than he let on.

Painkillers screw you up. Can't throw the ball and manage an offense on Vicodin.
