It doesn't matter if NASCAR fans want to beat you up, you just have to run away and then turn right.

only if we really want endless "revs up", "gears up", and "steps on the gas" headlines.

/with any luck we'll get one "screeches to a halt" headline pun and that'll be the end of it.

Into a wall, perhaps.

Granted, nearly everything I know about NASCAR comes from watching the movie 'Stroker Ace' on cable in the 80's.

So many opportunities for headline puns we can hope to see, especially if he seccumbs to the lure of the MAGAt side. From "With Trump as his co-driver" to "sliding uncontrollably in the polls", followed by "Slams into wall on election day" and finally "Limps away from twisted wreck of campaign".

I know fark has many good people who are fans of Nascar and "professional wrestling".  I have a hard time with this because I want to lump anyone that could consume such things as "entertainment" into a big group and then launch that lump into the god damned sun!

Government can have a positive or a negative impact on these types of communities and small businesses and their families," he added. "A lot of people are frustrated, concerned, want to know why things are not getting done, why things are not changing for the better. And I hear a lot of people complaining about it, but nobody's really trying to do anything about it."

So I then joined the party that is causing most of the problems.

I'd normally agree, but at least this guy is keeping it entry level by running for state senate. Usually delusional morons who decide "their country needs them" run for higher office right out of the gate.

Nascar is heavily rooted in anti-establishment and anti-prohibition culture - after all, it's pretty pro-LGBT and originally started as a fark-you to the police - so I'd say the GQP could definitely use someone like that. Provided they aren't instantaneously lynched.

Well, you're wrong.

Hey, at least he's running for a small position in state government.  It's not like he just decided to run for president as the first elected office he's ever tried to win (like some people).

2023-01-30 6:12:22 AM
On the plus side, he'll wear a suit covered with the names and logos of all his dark money supporters. Instead of being a representative from Virginia, he will be known as prime sponsor Hermie Sadler -number 17 the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Representative

FTFA: ""Government can have a positive or a negative impact on these types of communities and small businesses and their families," he added. "A lot of people are frustrated, concerned, want to know why things are not getting done, why things are not changing for the better. The answer is simple, House Republicans. How can a group that is antigovernment and want to dismantle it from within put forth an agenda to get things done and change it for the better? He did not put any policy positions out to be scrutinized to know his agenda, but his rhetoric sounds more like someone who will throw more wrenches into the workings of the system to muck things up even more than put in the work to make things better. Of course being a Republican and the term "changing for the better" being so very subjective, what he means by "better" could be the collapse of our democratic republic and delving into fascism.

Didn't Carl Rove imply that NASCAR was a Republican brand along with the WWF and the NFL., and almost bankrupt NASCAR because a lot of its fans dropped off because they didn't want to be associated with the GOP?

Richard Petty is a pretty staunch Democrat I believe, and so maybe a lot of fans are too.

Tho...I'm not a big fan of NASCAR....and much prefer F1 and 'bike' racing at the Barber Motorsports track.
They have a nice museum there that looks like one of those 'hot wheels' garages.
