Man, I was playing pinball when his parents were probably not even born yet.  Then again, I was never very good and I'm a bit jealous of his skills - and I've wanted a pinball machine for a long time.

I found one I wanted a few years ago.  It was way too expensive for me.

I used to know someone who had a Star Trek pinball machine.  I think it was this one:

I just googled Star Trek pinball machines. I found some newer ones for $5000+, but also these from Etsy that I can afford:

Third from left is Star Trek.  They're HO scale versions.

My father had this one https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/prospector
in the basement rec room of the house they bought right after I moved out.   My mother only let him furnish the basement so it had the pool table, this machine, a TV, a dart board, and a push cart popcorn maker.

I used to come over from time to time and open the thing up and replace the bulbs and rubber bumpers.

I've never been good at playing on physical machines. Ever. But I've enjoyed pinball video games since Video Pinball on Atari 2600.

I really like how Zen Pinball (or FX or whatever it is now) has the option to play on real-world tables but in 5-minute and survival modes. I can do pretty well on some tables as long as I have an unlimited number of balls to play.

I'm honestly happy for the dude.  The last place I remember playing a Flash Gordon pinball at was a skating rink in my hometown, and that was 29 years ago, ten years before he was born.  It wasn't particularly special, but I did like that table.  Good chance I played it before his parents were born.
