Ah, that sucks.

Fark cancer.

In lieu of smarts or funnies go hug someone.

That season of Picard was bad, but it shouldn't have been fatal.

Followed her since she was the brightest spot on 24. Far too young.

She was Bosch's ex in season 1 of that excellent show too.

She was also in Supernatural which was great and Castle, which I sort of watched.

Pretty much the sole positive aspect of Picard.

2023-01-29 10:47:09 PM
She was also the voice of Tess in the Last of Us video game.  Rather diverse career.

I wonder if she would have played Tess instead of Anna Torv had she been in better health. They did bring Merle Dandridge back for the live action Marlene, after all.

It's just really sad. 45 is way too young.

She's one of the few voice actors who are also proper screen actors. She'd also have been the right age - I'm sure she'd have been used.

More recently, she played numerous characters in the sci-fi and fantasy space, including Emma Whitmore in NBC's Timeless,Leslie Dean in Marvel's Runaways, and the Borg Queen in the second season of Paramount's Star Trek Picard.

So that horrible Picard show killed her.

FARK PICARD!

Geez, every time I see someone passing so young it gives me serious FOMO. I'd have been dead 10 years, done a lot of living in that time.

Hmm, I just saw something about her being a St. Louis native, but I'm unfamiliar with her work.

Looks like she was in one episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, and I saw most of those.  One episode of Birds of Prey(2002), but I only saw a couple of those.

45 is too young... my baby brother will turn 45 later this year.

Any chance you watched seasons 7 or 8 of the show 24? She played FBI agent Renee Walker.

No, I didn't see any of that show.  Going by the ads and by word of mouth, it sounded like an extended series on how the ends justify the means.

Yeah, it basically was. I think it may have helped inspire certain militia types in our society, sadly, but it was a fun series for what it was.

I did a filksong back when it aired summarizing the plot of "Day" (Season) Two to the tune of the opening theme from Animaniacs.

According to an article I just read, the first few episodes of The Last Of Us filmed way back in Sept. '21. I want to say season 2 of ST:PIC filmed roughly around the same time? So maybe it was a scheduling thing, and/or the producers maybe didn't think she had the look they were going for?

Here's something amusing about this.  But only a little.

My wife knows I'm a fan of Picard.  So she came in this morning to show me the article saying that this person had passed, and the picture with the article was of Agnes Jurati/Borg.  So I immediately thought that is was the actress that player HER.

When I went to look it up, I then found out that it was the actress that played the actual Borg Queen.

Well, anyway.  That's sad a fark.  And it is yet further validation that the universe is not simply unfair, it is purposely and actively malevolent.  The universe has no problem taking a 45 year old woman who never did anything but bring entertainment to people, and leaving all these other evil farking scumbags to live into their 90's, wrecking people's lives all the while.

Fark cancer.  Fark the universe for always sending cancer to the wrong people.
