Didn't a lot of really horrible things happen in Shawshank?

Well... maybe give it a sec...

I'm confused.  He thought of Shawshank as a positive thing?  The prison where an inmate spent several decades masterminding an escape so he could stop getting ass raped?  He saw Shawshank as a positive thing?

OK, I guess.  Different strokes and all....

I got the idea he thought prison would be a lot more horrible than it turned out to be. So far.

Knowing they have to use 3 by 5 inch towels suddenly makes me want to hear what Trump has to say about his stay in prison.  Here's hoping!

Wait - he was able to secure $250,000,000 in bail by putting up the $4,000,000 home of his parents as collateral?

He was able to get bail with just 1.6%, and on someone else's property to boot, even though he is quite likely a ridiculous flight risk?

Man, it's good to be white and rich.

He was really hoping for Morgan Freeman to rescue him from all the oppression that getting caught means.

And people trusted this man-child and his gaggle of incompetent friends with billions of dollars. I assumed he was very charming and charismatic but watching interviews with him makes him come across as the exact opposite. Was it just because of his connections? people blinded by the crypto scam? this deserves a psychological analysis or 2.

Andy was gang raped repeatedly. Not sure what his point is.

In a Stephen King version, the narrator is Bankman-Fried's roommate.

I wish I could tell you that SBF fought the good fight and the Sisters let him be.

I wish I could tell you that, but prison is no fairy tale world.

Other people contributed collateral, and it's only taken if he fails to show up. This is federal court it doesn't work the same as the Mississippi DUI program.

Prisons vary wildly, depending on the security level as well as who is running it (fed, state, or private).

Crimes like his usually send you to a minimal security fed joint, which are the easiest to do your time in.

I think he meant that he was afraid that it would be like the Shawshank, but was relieved to find that he was kept away from gen. pop., and that he didn't feel in danger. With the worst part being the lack of internet.

The lack of internet is what I'd fear the most as well. Actually, if Danish prisons had internet, I wouldn't mind going to jail. But since they don't, I have to keep clean.

"I didn't realize how much more important than everything else combined internet access is to me, but that was like 80% of the total cost of being in prison, " he said, noting that he would occasionally get access to a newspaper.

Bankman-Fried claimed that he was limited to one 30-minute phone call during his entire stay, but was allowed to meet with his Bahamian lawyers daily.

Well, he leveraged an asset, and then leveraged that leverage, rinse repeat, welcome to wall street, and then someone else is left holding the bag
