"We demand windmills be built on our oceans. We demand they go in our prairies and our mountains and our plains only to realize that they're killing all our birds at a level that if you go out hunting and you happen to shoot a bald eagle, they put you in jail like for five years, right? They kill thousands of them with these windmills. Nothing happens."

Who just 'happens' to shoot a bald eagle? Ooops, it looked like a duck?

"destroy our planes and beautiful oceans and seas and everything else"

Contextually I would assume he said "plains" not "planes;" Trump's biggest complaint about windmills has historically been that he doesn't like the way they look from his valuable properties.

Jake Havechek: Since when do conservatives care about wildlife?

1) When it is a chance to score points with their lowest-common-denominator constituents.
2) When there is a risk there won't be enough of a specific animal around for them to shoot, stuff, and mount on their study wall.
3) When one of the critters gets its head stuck in a fence and just starts gyrating in a way that makes them mop their brow and mumble, "... Mercy."
4) When one is chasing them with the intent to trample, gore, claw, bite, or otherwise maim and or kill their Rederplican ass.
5) When a medical discovery is found using pieces/fluids/excretions from said fauna that helps the aging, white shiatstains maintain an erection while they choke-fark their poolboy.

Old Conservative TP never dies. It is just flushed down into the brain of Donald Trump where it becomes jumbled and melded with the confused situational ethics and mendacity that is Donald Trump's demented thinking. bi

But they kill bats!

They also kill batshiat crazies, so Trump has an invested interest in attacking windmills. Give the man a rake and end him into the deepest darkest Boreal forests of Siberia to fight global warming by blowing the hot air out of his ears.

It's not a bad "make up your minds" callout. I wonder who Bergeraced the bit about birds and eagles into his ear piece.

In Germany they're trying to install vision systems to stop windmills when eagles are in the vicinity, making windmills even more intermittent than just if the wind is blowing.

Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain, or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind!

If that's your reasoning then that's pretty damn weak. It's not practical. At least not with current technology.

I'll be more specific. Trump thinks that if you use solar power then everything turns off at night when the sun is longer shining. He also thinks solar doesn't work if it is cloudy.

Notwithstanding that this isn't how it works at all, it also doesn't take into account that solar power charges batteries.

Thanks for attending my TED talk

Bald eagles were endangered for years until the pesticide DDT was banned during the Nixon administration, they've since recovered in numbers.

Which side of politics wants to bring back DDT? Not hard to guess.

Stop selling the bullshiat the problem with wind energy is nature, Republicans. You'd sell out every native species tomorrow if the money was right and you could get it past the Senate and the White House. Nobody's buying what Trump is selling except MAGAt morons.

Well, there's some  recent stuff where modified solar panels generate some electricity at night, but I think what he's referring to is rightwingnuts sometimes suggesting that--if you're relying on solar power--at sunset your electricity shuts off. Which of course isn't right because a solar powered system "works" at night through the magic of batteries etc. In the same way, Trump has claimed that if you use wind-generated electricity, your lightbulb or tv or whatever will shut off if the wind dies down.

Sure that works fine for off-the-grid homes, but on a larger scale batteries are still not practical. Imagine the resources needed to supply every household in the US with a battery bank sufficient to power their homes through the night. And that's not even considering they may have a plug-in automobile.
