They aren't.  That's the problem.  They can't determine what's a scam and what's not because they've fallen for the biggest scam there is: TFG.

I kinda of it as poetic justice.

Someone should run an ad there for a "guaranteed online scam detector" that would prevent truth social users from being targeted by malicious advertising. It would only cost $19.99 for the detector and a monthly fee of $4.99.

If they don't like getting scammed, maybe don't crawl back to the guy doing all the scamming.

Hello?

Scam site?

Yeah, I was on your site and got scammed.

What? the whole point of the place? I don't get it.

I just saw the ad for blue checks on Twitter. $11.99/month to show you're a person of interest, quality and integrity. FTS.

Once I saw TFG's moronic NFT ads and the price tags I knew we were at the MAGA equivalent of buying used underwear and bath water from "Influencers".

On Truth Social there is no truth.

It's a bit like Fox News, which has no news.

I don't feel bad for any of them. The internet is 30 years old, they've had plenty of time to learn how to spot scams and learn critical thinking.

Truth Social users are proving to be easy marks for shady online ads, and they're reportedly pleading with Donald Trump to do something about it.

lol. That's called, "everything is going exactly according to plan."

Why would any real person care?

I read a study once that showed that people rarely believe precisely one or two conspiracy theories. People either believe zero conspiracy theories or all the conspiracy theories; no in between. Some people are simply gullible idiots.

That's as fertile ground for scamming as I've ever seen.

Petey4335: People pay attention to ads? Really?

Yes of course.

I have ads tailored to my interests, and often find good offers. That's because I don't make any attempts to hide my general location, or browsing history.

I'm curious, how did you think the revenue stream from ads worked, if not for people paying attention?

If it wasn't for scam ads, conservative media would have died long ago.  You listen to talk radio, or watch Fox News, and every other ad for for a scam product, be it worthless gold certificates, questionable cryptos, pillows that couldn't be harder if they were made out of cement, defective products for senior citizens that are paid for with medicare scams, for profit colleges that have not accreditation, the list goes on.

The further right you go, the more fertile the target environment for scam ads, and the greater leniency toward those ads by the platform due to mutual sleaziness. OF COURSE scam advertisers would gravitate to Truth Social.

Really?! I allegedly have Google ads tailored to my interests, and it's completely bloody useless.

When I was able to access my Google information a couple years back due to the European privacy laws, I discovered that Google thought I was 50 years older than I was, on the other side of the country, the wrong gender, and also that I loved American football; none of which is correct. (I *really* don't get the American football one; I've given absolutely no indication of that whatsoever)

Currently I'm getting ads all over fark, (on possibly every freaking page) for Liberty University enrollment. Apparently Google is really certain I'm going to enroll in Liberty University any second now... somehow.

Aka Republicans.

And no, I'm not simply going for a petty joke. I will cite Facebook reposts and endless chain emails that influence their decision making as the argument.

My personal favorite from the late 90s-early Aughts was the "Reverse Mortgage". Like, if you need the money that bad, just sell the house and move into something smaller.

My favorite ads are the ones pushing you to buy gold and/or silver. If the world is about to suffer economic collapse, why do they want to sell their valuable gold and silver in exchange for my soon to be worthless dollars.
