They're going to try and have the Democratic machine consume her.  If it doesn't it's going to be a real problem for the wealthy people that bribe Congress going forward.

I mean, we've had people who seemed intent on bringing actual change to how wealth and power can operate here in NY. Unfortunately, they liked sex and that was more important to people.

Good. She's smart and tough, and now she's got some experience under her belt.

I know people here like Pelosi for some reason, but she was out for two things: 1) protecting the corporate/moderate wing of the Democratic Party, 2) giving her extremely expensive Wall Street husband insider tips to make the family more money.

No sir! You're wrong! She had the balls to tear paper and clap while financing all of trump's policies.

SHE'S ON OUR SIDE!

Yup, she's proven that she is the future of the party, time to let her have the positions that prove that.

Well, she needs to use her powers for good.

She could start by sub-leasing all the Republican minds she apparently resides in rent-free. That alone might be enough to end the housing shortage.

People will have no choice but to fall in line after she flips Texas blue.

She can sub-let the space to Democrats who need all the additional mind-room they can get to house Donald J. Trump.

This is her reward for keeping her mouth shut and going along with literally everything she apparently opposed when she was running.

I wrote this shortly before AOC was sworn in for her first term.  Figured I'd post it again just for old time's sake:

----------

She came dancing into the Congress, on a wave of azure blue
A young Latina warrior, bearing hope for me and you
In the White House, Dumpin' Donnie, with his phone and Russian lies
Mobilized his base and Fox News, to try to cut her down to size
And they scorned her and they cursed her, called her 'commie biatch' and worse
For she could not gain their power if they dehumanized her first
But she rebuffed their accusations, as she stood firm, straight and tall
And the GOP went crazy, and they doubled down on Wall

Hate was all around us, civility unknown
And the people saw the Proud Boys, and it chilled them to the bone
And they all filled out their ballots, with no time to moan or grouse
And they voted in their numbers, for the dems to take the House
And I know she's living here, and she loves the USA
And I wonder if she'll show us, how we all just lost our way

She came dancing into the Congress, Ocasio-Cortez
What a killer

I wish she'd drop the "Latinx" nonsense. Even Latinos don't care and her other policy positions are so much better.

Plus, AOC is proof that the "elder statesmen" can retire so that people like her can pick up the mantle.

That sounds woke to me.

The Lone Gunman: I wish she'd drop the "Latinx" nonsense. Even Latinos don't care and her other policy positions are so much better.

For like the trillionth time, the term exists as a word queer people of Latino descent use for themselves. Others can use it as they see fit. If someone doesn't want it used to refer to them, fine.

To say "Latinos don't care" is to assume that all Latino people are cisgender. The word exists for one specific extra-marginalized subset of the Latino community, one that is itself oppressed by the rest of the Latino community.

I'm so sick of this.

And let it not be lost on anybody that the timing coincides almost perfectly with her separation from the toxic twitter cult that grew up around her particular faction of the online left.

At this point, the biggest threat to her future would be for her to get so high on her own farts that she mistakes Chuck Schumer's popularity on the internet with his popularity on the ground in New York. Luckily, I think she's smarter than that, a certain segment of her fandom just demands she pretend not to be...
