But it's not really getting a higher paying job. It's getting paid more for the same job.

I have worked at the same company for 25 years. I know that I make less money than if I had changed companys (but doing the same job) a coupla three times.

I've known people who have failed upward by changing companies to a higher paying position when their current company caught on to their level of incompetence.

I can endorse these ideas having followed most of them. The only thing I failed at was chasing better jobs but I should have.

It's funny/odd how bosses are unable to see talent within their own company but will pay a premium to hire some unknown quantity.

Judging by all of the stats saying the average 401k balance is somewhere between zero and almost zero, I would guess that not a lot of people like to save for retirement. At least not at a level they should be.

I think a lot of places are starting to make people opt out of 401k but I'm sure plenty of dummies do just that. And the dummies borrowing from it in a non life or death situation.
