Every time Lotto gets near a Billion or so, one of fantasies if I won was to bring back Brumos Racing. I figure that much money would be enough to play "racing team owner" without worrying too much about the bills for a bit. Plus, the 24 hour races just don't seem the same without BR.

woo hoo - it's racing season!

I don't know a ton about sports car racing, but this race and/or Sebring are races I'd love to make it to someday. it just seems like it would be a fun weekend to hang out and enjoy some racing

Notes:

- If you want to dig in on the new GTPs, Marshall Pruett did a great series of videos on them and the playlist for them is here. Clearly, the silliest thing is the last video he put out just last night on how refueling works for these new cars. I understand what they're going for, but it's so convoluted.

- The GTD polesitter (qualifying was on Sunday) crashed on Thursday and totaled the car. The driver suffered back injuries and they might have gotten the backup ready in time.

- NASCAR announced this morning who will drive the Chevy NASCAR Cup car at Le Mans: Jimmie Johnson, Mike Rockenfeller, and... Jenson Button? Link

Who needs targeted by the idol?  I need to smite two, as a test to make sure it can smite both HWSNBN and the 5 car at the same time.

I think RLM just said they did

Too bad the weather isn't including rain but at least the teams appear to have good temperatures throughout rather than the cold that sometimes happens

I explained to my kids, who've only seen NASCAR race the road course, that these drivers are much braver, and don't need the bullshiat chicane at the end of NASCAR Turn 4.

I wish the Cup series would race the Daytona road course again - I thought the races they did have there were really good. it's certainly a better course than the Charlotte roval

I'm watching on Peacock because I thought it would be ad free like last year. But nope, they have commercials. Assholes.

/of course, this is what happens when they expect to lose $3 billion this year on Peacock

If they do, they must not run the second chicane.  Let them hit Road Course Turn One at full speed.

They'd have to hit the brakes at the start/finish line if they want to make that turn

I'm going for the all 24. I put in for Monday and Tuesday off work to recover, got myself a VPN for late night stream watching, and I'm about to head out on a quick snack run for last minute supplies.

Wish me luck.

If you're looking at the GTD standings, you'll see a lot of Porsches at the back of the field. They've been complaining about being much slower in the straights with their new car, but IMSA either didn't believe them or something because they won't help the Porsches out. Well, they're still well behind.

BOP doesn't come out until after Daytona. Adjustments made before Sebring from what I remember

They were hoping for an adjustment after last week's Roar, which isn't unheard of I'm sure

It's worth it just for the IMSA and WEC race coverage. Lots of rally cross, Indy Lights, and,if I'm not mistaken, World Superbikes.

Hold on, they just said the #8 had a water bottle leak and that bottle was placed OVER THE ECU?

Whoever designed that needs to be fired. That's just flat out stupid.

Hybrid cars have big batteries which means there is a risk if there is a malfunction that they could discharge on the poor driver/marshal/etc.

And there it is -- components on the garage 56 car will go on the NextGen car in the future. And Hendrick Motorsports gets to work with them years before anyone else.

NASCAR's transparently blatant favoritism on display for the world.

Well, NASCAR stopped being sport so long ago that no one should be surprised.
