He was good in Boogie Nights, and the Fighter, but honestly, every interview I see of the guy, he's bragging about something. He worked out with so and so, and the other guy couldn't keep up. That kind of thing.

Kind or wonder why someone who has achieved so much success still needs to brag and engage in pissing matches with other people in the business.

Actually I don't wonder why.

I think he's primarily using edibles now, to preserve his lung functions, as he suffers from COPD (also known as emphysema).

Mid/late 2000's Austin City Limits Music festival I wound up driving out directly behind Willie's bus in the 30-minute get-out-of-the-park traffic line. Contact buzz absolutely did happen.

I saw Willie Nelson on the tv a couple years on some country chick's special and he did his song like he had one foot in the grave. I thought, aw, they want to get him on television one last time. A couple days later, out of nowhere, I thought, oh, Willie's not dying, he was just high AF.

It's a hell of a lineup! For anyone thinking of buying a ticket, the cheapest single seat I saw in the artists presale on Thursday was $450 way up in the nosebleeds (didn't end up buying, couldn't justify the cost of tickets and travel right now).
Fortunately for me the artists I was most keen to see there are young and should be touring for a while yet so I'll bide my time and save my cash for another day.

There's a story that Willie was playing at a place in Austin (may have been the Armadillo World Headquarters), and he kept on doing encore after encore. Eventually the place turned off the lights, and he kept playing in the dark for another hour.

Love Willie. Saw him live in Houston right before the Covid shut down and I am glad he is able to perform again.  He is a shadow of his former self as a performer, but it is obvious that he loves being out there and sharing his music. I am glad he gets to celebrate his career  at 90.

The idea of a contact high is largely just a myth.  If you're hot-boxing in a car with 3 other people heavily smoking, maybe you might inhale enough second-hand to get high, but standing next to a bunch of people smoking at a concert isn't going to do it.  Anyone that claims they got a contact high at a concert is either feeling the placebo affect or straight up lying.
