Even in California, I can name a gun club with a bar. Probably more than one if I think for a bit.

But they changed the rules a while back so you can only drink after you're done shooting.

There are quite a few places like this around.  The one that I am familiar with doesn't allow shooting after drinking.  Honestly, it's more of a club for old people the occasionally shoot than a "shooting range".

Meh. Even here in MA there is a gun club near me that has two bars.  There are policies in place and not sure there has ever been an incident.

/not a gun owner but enjoy the range when invited

A trend in ranges is to create a multi-use facility.  The 'clubhouse' appeal is not new.  Store your firearms on the premises, have a restaurant (which can serve alcohol).  Meet for a drink and a meal, swap stories, etc.

We lived 1/2 mile from our local Gun Club.  The bar was one hallway over from the rifle range.  When they'd have the weekend turkey shoots, you'd see guys with breech-open shotguns staggering to the skeet and trap positions, some having to put their beer down as they took their shots.

At least in this case the targets were down range into a farm field, but I never felt safe there.

They used to do rifle ranges for target practice OVER the beer hall. Things were arraigned so you couldn't fire into the drinking area. Kept the men in practice.

Although I think shooting range and bar might be more like a 19th hole arraignment.

There's another story that just came out here (Link fair warning it may be paywalled) that she and her husband might be running interference for their alledged drug dealer son and friend of his who recently OD'd on pills her don son may have given him.

Being a fantastic trial judge doesn't necessarily make her a fantastic state Supreme Court Justice. They are two entirely different jobs.
