Its as though there are entire industries built around the concept that there's a constant flow of new teenagers who've never experienced these industries before so you can just sell the same thing to them over and over again for ever.

It's pretty much universal that all parents are horrible in every teen show or movie.

(Because most teens don't like their parents in one way or another.)

I still remember being in third grade and it was on TV during Halloween 1987....totally scared me even though it was edited for TV.

And I love how Peter Vincent makes fun of the slasher genre that was huge during the 80s:

I'm trying to find a writer to help me write a script on that very subject.  I have the plot, most of the characters planned, and the overall story/event structure.  Now I just need someone that knows what they're doing to go over it and write dialogue.
