Turkish drone manufacture goes from single shift to 3 shift production.

Remember when a "Russian" missile landed in Poland? Yeah ... same vibes. I really hope the Russians obliterate those tanks as soon as they roll off the transport carriers. I suspect the defense contractors do, too, but for different reasons.

Finland and Sweden become full NATO members by the weekend?

Ah, thank you.  I mostly stayed out of the really busy Ukraine threads because I figured it would be Crimea 2.0 in there and didn't want to subject myself to that again.

It's a common place name in Turkey and in former Ottoman Empire places.  It roughly translates to "salt lick location".

So an unmanned ship belonging to a Turkish business gets hiat by Russian strikes in the Ukraine harbor? I'm pretty sure Putin will dig out the change between the couch cushions and write them a check. Turkey and Erdrogan only care about making a statement or stand when involves countries that don't have a-hole dictators.

I assume the author of the article regards himself as not-stupid? Stupidity is worse than evil? Ok that's a great sound bite, for sure. But what are we going to do if we actually start regarding it as worse. Is manslaughter going to carry a greater penalty than first degree?

/I suspect that the author of the article is some how misrepresenting Bonhoeffer, likely without knowing it.

The Turks don't really care about the Russians these days. They are too busy planning their next round of genocide against the Armenians, Kurds, and Greek Cyproits.

You can hope in one hand and shiat in the other...see which hand fills up first, comrade.

Russia has been, is, and always will be Europe's backwater. It's a matter of time before the people east of the Urals say fark Muscova and end that paper empire for good.

This strike combined with the news that Russia financed the right-winger's Quran-burning in Sweden just might do the trick.

Well, of course. Replacing the federal income tax with a 30% consumption tax would make it a lot harder for rich Americans to dodge, short of moving to Monte Carlo. They can't have their Doordash orders imported from Guatemala.

Wealthy donors expect the GOP to ensure that only fools and poor people pay US federal taxes. The donors get to invest in bonds backed by the full faith and credit of the United States and make Uncle Sam pay them.

That's the whole point of investing in Republicans. They have a much higher and less risky return on investment than serious attempts at innovating or improving productivity or developing new products.

Who needs a cure for cancer anyway?

The Russians are so low on munitions that they are converting SAMs and ASMs into ground-attack missiles.  You find it hard to believe that a Russian missile would go off-course and hit a civilian ship that is in a harbor the Russians are actively attacking, a ship that has been blockaded since the war started?  I'm just surprised it took them this long to hit it.
