So... LEGO was making a portapotty for its construction crew set. They used to make cupcake tops, so they made a batch in brown. Yes, it fits like a hat.

while this is a heart warming story, isn't a child's GI tract much different than a grown adult? we need to repeat these tests on children who are under state supervision.

My cousin swallowed a Lego when he was a kid and my aunt had to capture his shiat in what was basically a medical colander, and then use a fork to push it through until she knew it passed.

I think I found a typo in the article...

...should 'The Defector' be 'The Defecator'?

The article is a little light on the details, and clicking on through to the study is worthwhile on this one. In addition to the "Found and Retrieved Time (FART) score," there's a "Stool Hardness and Transit (SHAT) score."

The bit of info that you need to know: the average FART was 1.71 days.

One of the six participants never found it. "Patient B searched through 13 stools over the 2-week period." That's real dedication, Mr. Participant. Hats off to you for Science, because I'm not going to shake your hand.

Fun fact: Your digestive system can easily break down corn, it just cant break down the outer husks. When you see corn kernels in your poop the insides have been digested and refilled with poop.
