smart move. many lawyers have huge egos and consider themselves above others. sharp suits, long hair, beards. they have their fancies. it's better than giving them a raise. and it gives the attention whores a chance to do their worse.

Decades ago, a lawyer (female) that I knew convinced an IRS auditor that her 'lawyer clothes' were so different from her regular clothes that they constituted a legitimate business expense. She argued many cases before the feds, which required "ugly, dull, business suits" vs her usual hold-overs from the Age of Miniskirts, Tie-dyes and Tie-dyed miniskirts.
