Still waiting for Jay-Z and his wife to swoop in and buy it and relaunch as "Bed, Bath & Beyonce."

Turns out there's nothing beyond beds and baths. Nothing.

We sell linens, towels, and rugs.

"Yeah but we'd make way more money if we sold appliances and stupid 'live laugh love' crap and crummy appliances. "

Ok.

"Why come our place is dying?"

It's the same reason all the stores are looking the same,
all the television networks are the same.
Mission creep.

Yeah, I never understood how that place stayed in business this long.  It's not as bad as Radio Shack, but every time I've been in one I was like "I don't want any of this stuff".

/I think I bought a pillow from them once, like 15 years ago when I was staying out of town.

My teenage son used to work at the neighborhood Radio Snack.  I couldn't believe people actually bought large ticket items there, but I looked at his pay stubs a few times and he was pulling in a ton in commissions.   There's a class of customer who liked the attention that they got there apparently.

Radio Shack was the days of a smarter America, and their customers were miles away from the BB&B crowd. Mrs. Swimo dragged me into that store more than once. A selection of overpriced items like I've never seen before.

Radio Shack sold a lot of items you could not find elsewhere. And regular customers knew if they happened to buy their stereo there it wasn't going to be a problem with a return upon defect.

Radio Shack was great, like 25 years ago.
