itsaback: Isn't this the point of defunding the police? Here is a guy that has demonstrated that he isn't stable. Now the state and local government has to spend bunches of money in needless court proceedings and building repairs when this could have been handled with social workers and mental health programs. The costs are equal or lower with the latter.

Floki: Chacon eventually drove to the Grand Junction Police Department. He told investigators he "did not want to be killed, so he chose to drive into the lobby," according to court documents.
"As Nathan told me (the investigator) this, he advised he knew it was dumb but he knew what he needed to do in order to be heard," the affidavit reads.

Chacon was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for attempted murder in the first degree, attempted assault in the first degree, attempted vehicular homicide - reckless driving, attempted vehicular assault, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
No one was injured in the crash.

Based on his testimony, there was no intent to murder or assault anyone. By his own admission he drove into the lobby to get attention.

Just a bunch of trumped up charges by the useless cops.

If there were employees on the other side of that wall, the only thing that kept him from killing them was the wall.

They'll probably end up charging him with lesser stuff than the attempted murder though. The cops just wanted a charge with a high bond so they could keep him locked up until he saw a judge and probably get a bond with conditions.
