Back in 1975 I used to deliver auto parts in Kensington, amongst other nearby places. Metal Gorilla is descriptive of any given body shop worker.

If I had a bronze gorilla that everyone loved and had already sold it I wouldn't leave it on the front porch. What an idiot.
I doubt the theft has anything to do with loving the sculpture. Bronze is around $2.50 /lb at the scrapyard.

That method works about 30% of the time for me. And only because while I'm staring at the empty spot, I'll suddenly remember "Oh yeah, I moved it" and remember where it is now.

lol, he'd get gas money for bringing it to one and back then. This is Kensington, MD. Somebody has a new conversation piece in their basement or attic. Her shop is not far from me, it's a nice area over there. Around here in general too.

But that's just the sort of shenanigans me and folks I grew up with might have been up to. Not a lot of scrap theft around here.

Not all places on Earth are the same though. We don't live in a Star Wars movie, where the whole planet is all the same.

Not a lot of scrap theft in a place as affluent as Kensington, surrounded by other affluent neighborhoods. Multiple supreme court justices live in Kensington, to give you an idea.
