I know a dog who can chirp like a bird and purr like a cat.

Only one? That's really common behavior among cats. Don't know what the purpose of it is though.

In our old house you could see the garage roof not far from our bedroom window.

One morning our cat was lying on the bed when a Red-tailed hawk landed on the roof peak.

Miss Fluffy starts her usual chittering, realizes how big the bird is and that she shouldn't attract attention, shuts up, and hides.

I think the purpose of the chattering is to sort of mimic some sounds Birds make so that they come closer to investigate, and the cat can then pounce.

I had to learn Morse Code while in the navy. I forgot most of it.
But I do remember: three dits, four dits, double dit, dah!!!
