Third time today.
We are going to get the "Due to lack of a video confession, filmed on IMAX 3D from multiple angles by Oscar award winning cinematographers in front of twelve law enforcement investigators from at least six different jurisdictions, a panel of seven bipartisan judges, two Eagle Scouts and four Girl scouts, there is simply not enough evidence to assure a conviction if brought to trial. If at some point in the future additional evidence comes to our attention we will be sure to put it in a safe and toss it into the ocean."

The one thing that actually seems interesting recently though is the arrest of this guy:
https://abcnews.go.com/US/former-fbi-official-charles-mcgonigal-arrested-ties-russian/story?id=96609658

If the feds are pursuing a counter-intelligence focused series of prosecutions here, starting with arresting the Kremlin's actual mole in the upper ranks of the FBI during the 2016 election is a good - if belated - start.

McGonigal, 54, is charged with violating U.S. sanctions by trying to get Deripaska off the sanctions list. McGonigal is one of the highest ranking former FBI officials ever charged with a crime.

It really, really does. Because it really really should. When the New York FBI field office was leaking Hillary Clinton rumors and the FBI was saying there's no indication of blah de blah that was this motherfarkin' guy. There is an easy test to make sure they don't put a Red Hat on the jury.

Put potential jurors in a room about 10-20 at a time with a TV set to FOX News, if they don't get up to change the channel, you have a Red Hat on your hands.

They ARE "doing something". And very few people except the braying hoofbeasts here on Fark seem to think there "isn't a different set of rules" for the rich and the poor, or the black and the white. And nobody but them seem to believe that somehow charging or even convicting Trump will move the scale one hairsbreadth back to equal.

People who make these statements really puzzle me sometimes. They sound like 10-year old kids who just now discovered Santa Claus isn't real; or 18-year old private schoolgirls who just hit public university and discovered the realities of sexism or racism. Yeah: The world is like this and it's unfair. There are other, more easily remedied unfairnesses than slapping one spoiled yam into the slammer. If you really want to convince people that there isn't a "different set of rules" stop obsessing over Trump and hie thyself down to the courthouse and volunteer with legal services for a few days. Get some help to the people who need it the most. That'll do more good than putting Trump behind bars.
