oh, man - I loved Beano and Dandy comics. Especially Dennis & Gnasher. Plus Desperate Dan, Billy Whizz, the Bash St. Kids, etc.

End of an era. Bloody Hell.

Thank you Mr. Sutherland; endless hours if not weekends were spent pouring over Dennis and Gnasher's antics, as well as the Bash St. Kids. I remember being in my Mum's old room in Nottingham, a bag of cheese and onion crisps, a glass of British Coca-Cola, and a pack of caramel munchies and....

The Beano. Either having picked up the latest issue from Mr. Gatzbys or WH Smith, or reading one of the big Annuals my Gran used to give me on my Birthday or Christmas.

I grew up with your work. Dennis and The Bash St. Kids made me feel like I wasn't 'lost', if that makes any sense.

A part of genuine golden awesome in life, is gone.

I always enjoyed that "rivalry" despite not really following either comic.

They basically realized they'd come up with more or less the same thing at the same time and their reaction was just to be like "yeah, good little bit of wordplay, am I right?" and both keep on trucking without really bothering each other.

Kinda nice when wealthy and successful people are, like... actually kinda chill instead of horrible monsters.

Yep, I only learned about that recently. In the UK there was a dart player named Dennis Priestley they called Dennis the Menace and they used the images from the UK cartoon. It was so confusing. I thought they just drew it that way because Priestley had dark hair.

I think the last time I bothered to look at a Dennis the Menace cartoon was 55 years ago and even as a child of 7 I thought it was infantile and pointless.

Can't help but wonder if you're actually referring to the Beano comic or if, in your own infinite purposefulness, you're just crapping out your opinion on what's essentially an unrelated topic.

I would hate to have a neighbor kid like Dennis Mitchell, but I would recognize the necessity of getting on his good side so he wouldn't trash my place with wanton vandalism.
