There was a documentary about how airports/airlines deal with lost luggage.

I think on Nat Geo...1 hour of amazing facts on how they deal with lost luggage.

Matter or fact, looks so much fun I want a job doing that.

From TFA:  The Newfoundlander says he is moved by Cook's willingness to help him and that it makes him think that Philadelphia might be a pretty hospitable place.

Just don't show up in a rival team's jersey.

Nice story with a happy ending immediately followed by this one on the same article:

"And Now for Two Depressing News Stories (Sorry). A Jenkintown woman is charged with killing and dismembering her parents' bodies."

Kind of ruined the mood.

Nice restuarant. Good food. Service can be slow, but that means if you're not in a hurry, have a window seat, there's great people watching to enjoy.

It might be a photoshop.

Someone last week told me it was staged for a sculpture or something.

I dunno.

WHY the hell is this guy sea vent mapping though the DRC, they have like 20 miles of coast. I'd say that's a CIA cover but he's Canadian.

I get that in some countries the luggage may be sorted manually, but at some point it got to an airport with flights to PHL to an airline that serves it. That indicates already some automation and security checks involved.

If the luggage piece still had its tag with his name and address on it, and I assume the airline barcode attached as well, how the fark it gets sent to a different destination to a different person with a completely different name??

It is indeed a sculpture, and it can be seen at the Sacramento Airport.

If the guy's luggage had been sent to Pat's it would have ended up in the Delaware River.

In Newfoundland, it's policy to use the definite article, the Dildo, never your Dildo, because you don't own the place, you know.

FTA: Pope is an offshore worker. More specifically, he is an offshore surveyor who flies all over the world to deal with something called sea vent mapping. (We'll let you look it up.)

That's unnecessarily wordy and it's a writer asking his readers to do more work than they should. This guy writes an article like he wants his readers to go down rabbit holes and fark off with his article. Weird.

After being screamed at with racial insults once the owner saw the Africa origin stickers.  Or is that the owner of Geno's?  Anyway they both sucked compared to Billybob's in West Philly, sadly that closed but some of the food truck cheesesteaks are better than either Geno's or Pat's, always have been.

/Rami's falafel truck better than all.

I get it your number eventually comes up.....

I've flown easily 1K times. You know how many times my luggage was actually lost?

0.

3 times it showed up a day late. I was handsomely, almost comically, compensated for it. To the point i wish iat happened every time.

Maybe a dozen times a few hours behind me.

There's a lot here that doesn't make sense.

Everyone I know who has an air tag, myself included, knows that their bag is separated from them or misdirected a LONG TIME before they arrive at their final destination.

Also, only American has non-stop flights from Paris to Philadelphia, whereas both Air France and Air Canada have nonstop flights from Paris to Montreal.

Yes, that makes sense. A few folks up thread mentioned it's an art installation as well. This would explain why the people standing around it are so calm.

Yeah, all the little blurb stories that followed were kinda interesting:

And Now for Two Depressing News Stories (Sorry)
A Jenkintown woman is charged with killing and dismembering her parents' bodies. And sadly, investigators have announced that missing Montco mom Jennifer Brown is dead.

Far From Over
Lower Merion police may have placed the cop who tased the unarmed Black woman in a Wawa parking lot on administrative leave, but neighbors still have plenty of concerns.

Summer Plans?
Apparently, Jersey Shore summer rentals are filling up faster than ever.

Oh Brother
Now former lieutenant governor Mike Stack wants to be our mayor. Make it stop!!!

Talk About Good Press
The New York Times raves about a Philly bar that hasn't even opened yet.

Shame the luggage didn't get sent to the Vatican.

When D. Pope opens the bag, he might exclaim "These aren't my dildos!"

I wonder if maybe the airline tag got torn off somehow, and somebody guessed wrong about where the bag was going. Maybe his bag looked the same as that other person's, and was nearby the Canadian guy's bag when the missing tag was discovered, so it was assumed they both belonged to the same person? Retagging the bag would also associate the other person's name with the bag when scanned.

Good! Glad we got that covered.
