There will be Republican election fraud in WI, OH, and GA.  Arizona will get all the attention but the GOP's goal is to maintain the House and flip the senate.

They don't need the presidency to implement their agenda, ok, doing nothing with Congressional control is their agenda because they have control of SCOTUS.

They need outrage over the presidency to cover for the congressional races.

As Buttigeig said, it's time to stop treating the presidency as the only race that matters.

You know your ideas are the best when implementing them requires as few people as possible to vote.

And this is all about making sure that in November 2024 Republican-controlled state legislatures are there to say "Sure, Biden got the most votes, but we have concerns about fraud in cities, so, just to be safe and because we love democracy so much, we're going to send our own electors to Washington to install Donald Trump as God-King for Life."

Then why didn't the GQP vote count go up commensurate with decline in Democratic votes? If your messaging was effective, these voters would've voted Republican  - instead their vote was suppressed.

He should resign, because he said the quiet part out loud.

He shouldn't resign because of anything he actually did that may have helped suppress voter turn out.

Rather, by admitting to the intent and effect, and he said, some thing that could be used in court to potentially undo the progress he made for the republican party.

But then, since Republican appointees to the bench, don't care about voting rights. This might be a case of new harm no foul and he should just stick it out.

You keep it from happening by passing and enforcing laws that stop it. The ones that want it to happen are the ones running the state governments. It's hard to pass a law when you don't have a majority and the law you want to pass will get the majority removed from office.

It has nothing to do with short-sightedness and everything to do with the fact that the Administration can't stop them from forming this committee or undertaking whatever investigations they desire, so they're going to treat it with the level of seriousness it deserves, namely "zero".

Or do you think the Administration should be publicly fretting about it?

Or, to extend the metaphor a bit, Team Red know their team aren't good enough to score many goals in an honest game, so they'll do their damnedest to make sure Team Blue can't score in regular time---even if that means occasionally using unnecessary roughness to force the benching of top players early in the game.

So invest in a top-notch goalie, try to fight to a no-score draw, and hope you can get in enough goals in the penalty-kick tie-breaker.

(I'll leave it to sports buffs to explain what sanctions a real pro team would face if they did this consistently.)

In other words, there are many ways to win a game if you're desperate or unscrupulous enough.

Racists in Wisconsin? I'm shocked. When I lived there people would joke that crime goes down in Green Bay after the football season ends because  the Packers leave town and take their families with them. Oh wait...they did that on my FB page a couple weeks ago.

My goddaughters are both in college now and actively making plans to leave the state when they graduate or move to Milwaukee or Madison  to help make the state less shiatty. I told them to move to red districts in those areas just to take away 1 vote.

That's a problem with you and your interpretation of what's happening.

You're desperately looking for some "referee" who can stop what you perceive as unfairness and completely ignoring the fact that there is no referee. There is no singular set of official rules handed down from on high to be enforced. There is no entity with the authority to enforce them or conduct a post hoc review.

Fretting about Republican fishing trips in Congress? Maybe not publicly, no. But also, with this new Biden document shiat (which wasn't even uncovered by Congress), there's a real danger of losing the "momentum". Whatever trivial bullshiat Republicans uncover has more power because Biden's already on his back foot with that damaging reveal.

I also think that February 2021 was the time to start making some aggressive moves like high-profile arrests in the fake elector case(s) - I know DoJ has something like 1,000 cases against insurrectionists going since then, but ZERO against the fake electors. Who knows, maybe moving more aggressively then might have meant saving a handful of Democratic seats last year...

// the Select Committee was formed almost six months after the actual attack, which seems like a few months wasted

Jacobin: You never say the quiet part out loud

The central question that emerges . . . is whether the White community in the South is entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally, in areas in which it does not prevail numerically? The sobering answer is Yes - the White community is so entitled because, for the time being, it is the advanced race. It is not easy, and it is unpleasant, to adduce statistics evidencing the cultural superiority of White over Negro: but it is a fact that obtrudes, one that cannot be hidden by ever-so-busy egalitarians and anthropologists.

National Review believes that the South's premises are correct . . . It is more important for the community, anywhere in the world, to affirm and live by civilized standards, than to bow to the demands of the numerical majority.

*****

Mr. Kilpatrick also took aim at the 1965 Voting Rights Act in the April 20, 1965 issue. "Must We Repeal the Constitution to Give the Negro the Vote?" he asked, accusing the bill's supporters of "perverting the Constitution." He thought certain blacks should be given the right to vote but notes, "Over most of this century, the great bulk of Southern Negroes have been genuinely unqualified for the franchise." He also defended segregation as rational for Southerners. "Segregation is a fact, and more than a fact; it is a state of mind. It lies in the Southern subconscious next to man's most elementary instincts, for self-preservation, for survival, for the untroubled continuation of a not intolerable way of life."

*****

In a column written five months before the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act and called "The Issue at Selma," he called for giving blacks the vote but perhaps restricting the franchise to high school graduates. He sympathized with the Southern position writing, "In much of the South, what is so greatly feared is irresponsible, mobocratic rule, and it is a fear not easily dissipated, because it is well-grounded that if the entire Negro population in the South were suddenly given the vote, and were to use it as a bloc, and pursuant to directives handed down by some of the more demagogic leaders, chaos would ensue." He also warned of "a suddenly enfranchised, violently embittered Negro population which will take the vote and wield it as an instrument of vengeance, shaking down the walls of Jericho even to their foundations, and reawakening the terrible genocidal antagonisms that scarred the Southern psyche during the days of Reconstruction."

/
There was a time when Republicans actually took credit for Reconstruction.
//Weird, ain't it?
