Maher is 1 for his last 6 on PATs. Niners kicker Robbie Gould has literally never missed a postseason kick.

As a Niners fan with a sense of irony, I expect Gould to miss a big kick.

Nobody should be surprised by this. McCarthy has experience dealing with kickers who have a monstrously awful game. He stuck with Mason Crosby after an abysmal game against Detroit when Crosby missed five kicks, and Crosby paid back that faith by succeeding on all but two of his 47 kicks across the rest of the season.

That's not a difficult thing to do when you spend most of your career with the Bears.
