She's not entirely wrong... Museums should return stolen artifacts. I also don't think they should be hoarders, ie, the Louvre "do you like Greek pots? Here is 10,000 Greek pots" or "do you like Egyptian sarcophaguses? Here are 1000 of them piled into display cases". It takes the specialness of the piece and turns it into a redundant headache. The rest of what she's saying is stupid though.

The problem both with what she's saying and what you're saying is that you're incredibly stupid about it.  THAT is what people are mocking.  There's very little overlap between "return artifacts that were stolen to their host countries if they can properly care for and protect them" and "burn it all down because honest exhibits about slavery undermine the basic assumptions I built my life on".

99% of people are not, in fact, saying "defund all the museums and send back all the artifacts."

Museums perform a valuable service in preserving and presenting the past. Many if not most of the artifacts were properly recovered and/or donated with the full cooperation of the cultures involved.

It's only fools like you and Owens who hear people say "we should return the pillaged artifacts to their home countries" and decide that means "defund all the museums and return all the artifacts! I am very intelligent."

I used to be a right wing troll on here, but I eventually started to come around.  Trump broke me.  I spent 2016 thinking he has to be a leftwing plant designed to get Hillary elected, and then he won the election, did not move to the center like I thought he would, and filled his cabinet full of morons.

Also in 2016, I started to realize how irrational Republican voters were and this made me reexamine conservative beliefs.  I started to realize that so much of what I believed was wrong and why it had been pushed on me.  I do not think I was ever super racist, but I was being used as a tool by racists who knew how to manipulate my passions and frustrations.

After that I made a pretty hard left turn.

I have noticed a number of right wing trolls who seemed to be making the same turn in here recently.  I think the war in Ukraine and the hatred of Zelinskyy among certain freedom caucus types has a lot of people reexamining their beliefs.

Nothing on fark gets 99% unanimity. But whatever fraction want the British museums to send back all or some of the artifacts, want them to send them back to museums. In their home countries. Whereas Owens says twice in the short clip she's anti-museum. Analogy, logic fail.

Not sure where I stand on the general issue of repatriating artifacts because it's complicated. The Greeks definitely should get back the Elgin marbles from the Acropolis though. It's not just some random vases or whatever, it's from the heart of their ancient culture and they belong in Greece. I bet the British cough them up before 2030.

I think stuff that was stolen by colonial powers should be returned, whether it's in British, French, German or Danish museums.
I don't think museums are worthless and should be closed.

I bet that sounded smarter in your head.

If you engage whatever broken hamster wheel you have that masquerades as a brain, you might notice a slight difference between "return artefacts that were stolen to museums in the countries they were stolen from" and "shut down all museums".

Try doing that, and stop getting your information from sources that are expressly opposed to education, you might do better in life.

Compile a list of Southern USA-ian states 'heritage' oriented museums which have received any kind of state or federal funding / subsidies and ask her which of these should be prioritised for closure?

The mental gymnastics should be entertaining.
