I'm sort of surprised that he made "millions" in the first place. Track and field event specialist (like most Olympic events that don't really have a "professional" level beyond the Olympics) just doesn't seem like place to churn millions of bucks.

His outright dominance and speed became the story, similar to Michael Phelps. His name is known. Most others in similar events can hardly claim the same. Hence the endorsements.

I found this:

In the year 2016 and 2016, Bolt earned around $30 million from endorsements. He has endorsed huge brands like Visa, Gatorade, Hublot, Virgin Media, All Nippon Airways and others. He also makes an appearance in the famous mobile game named Temple Run 2.

Bolt is the brand ambassador of PUMA which is world's renowned sports footwear and apparel company. It is the biggest endorsement for the Jamaican sprinter, as he used to receive about $10 million every year. After retirement he still receives $4 million annually.

Step 1. Get millions from Usain Bolt
Step 2. Invest in crypto
Step 3. .....
Step 4. Where's the money? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

\No profit

Man, if only there was something called an "article" you could have read that would have cleared that up for you.

Sadly, the world will never know.

Really? Charismatic guy sets world record after world record, dominates the Olympics on the way to becoming the fastest human of all-time and you are surprised he made millions of dollars in endorsements? If he dominated the javelin or shotput I'd get it because I have no idea who those guys are and most don't. But I'd bet I could easily name ten hundred meter champs going back to before Carl Lewis even. Those guys make bank and I'd bet Bolt made more than any of them. Dude is probably pushing nine figures.

I thought the 1000m replaced the ten hundred

It sounds like he was using an older version of SSL.

WAS pushing nine figures, you mean.

/Wouldn't have this article otherwise.
